Fran “Frannie” was born in Aquafondata, Italy. She came to America in 1954 with her family who made a home in South Philadelphia. She later married and moved to Blackwood, New Jersey where sh
e lived for 32 years. Fran was a caring and supportive daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend. She always wore a smile on her face and loved to talk and laugh. Fran was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2008 after feeling a lump in her abdomen and quickly losing weight. She was diagnosed by her family doctor who immediately sent her for testing after she explained how she was feeling. Fran was a fighter until the very end. She was strong and brave throughout her fight. She was determined to beat this cancer. Her spirit and attitude kept her going strong for over four years after her diagnosis. Fran was an amazing woman and touched the lives of everyone she met. While the people who loved and knew her miss her greatly each and every day that passes, we would like to continue to raise awareness and honor her memory.
