The Cottingham Insurance Agency recently held a charity golf scramble benefiting local nonprofits. They selected the Western ND Honor Flight as the recipient for their 50/50 raffle held during the tournament. Pictured are staff from the agency presenting a check to WNDHF board members.

Also pictured is the team who won the 50/50 and generously donated their winnings to our mission.

We are continually grateful for the kindness and generosity of our communities.

Today, these hometown heroes are proudly presenting a check to the Western North Dakota Honor Flight, helping us continue our mission of bringing Veterans to Washington, D.C. to visit the memorials built in their honor.

Moments like this remind us that patriotism isn’t just a word — it’s an action. It’s neighbors supporting neighbors. It’s communities lifting up the women and men who lifted up our nation.

Today, on National Purple Heart Day, Western North Dakota Honor Flight proudly honors the brave women and men who were wounded or made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.

The Purple Heart is more than a medal—it is a symbol of extraordinary courage, selfless sacrifice, and unwavering devotion to our country. We remember those whose lives were forever changed in defense of our freedoms and express our deepest gratitude for their service.

At Western North Dakota Honor Flight, we are committed to preserving the legacy of America's veterans and ensuring their sacrifices are never forgotten.

Today, we invite you to join us in thanking all Purple Heart recipients and their families for the sacrifices they have made on behalf of our nation.

Today, we salute the legendary Buffalo Soldiers — the trailblazing Black cavalry and infantry regiments who stood tall, rode hard, and defended our nation with grit, honor, and unwavering duty.

From the Western North Dakota Honor Flight, we proudly recognize these heroes whose service helped shape America’s military history. Their courage paved the way for generations of servicemembers who followed.

Strong. Steadfast. Unshakable.

The Buffalo Soldiers embodied everything we strive to honor on every flight we take.

A group of people are hosting a rummage sale fundraiser in Mandan with the proceeds going to the Western North Dakota Honor Flight.

They are still in need of volunteers to help with the event. You can contact either of the ladies listed on the flyer for more information.

What an incredible honor today — Western North Dakota Honor Flight proudly served as Grand Marshal of the North Dakota State Fair Parade! 🇺🇸✨

A huge THANK YOU to the amazing veterans who rode with us on the military truck. Your presence lit up the entire route, and the crowd’s cheers said it all.

Shoutout to Tioga American Legion Post 139 for the use of the military truck and our rock‑star driver who kept us rolling safely and smoothly the whole way. Absolute MVP.

To our volunteers who continue to show up, rain or shine — you’re the heartbeat of this mission. And to our board members and their families who hyped the crowd, waved until their arms fell off, and handed out mountains of candy… you brought the energy today.

And of course — THANK YOU to everyone who donated candy. Because of you, we turned that parade route into a sugar‑coated runway of smiles.

I will be sending a message out tomorrow regarding the first 16 to respond. *********

We are looking for 16 Western North Dakota Honor Flight veterans who would like to represent the Honor Flight in the North Dakota State Fair Parade on July 18 in Minot. We are serving as the parade Grand Marshal and have use of a military truck that has seating in the box for 16.

You will be responsible for your transportation to and from the parade. And you would need to wear either your Honor Flight blue polo or blue tshirt.

The first 16 Western North Dakota Honor Flight veterans to respond to this post are who we will have ride in the truck.
