We want to thank the Collins family for allowing us to attend the funeral of Mr. Larry Collins, US Army, First Sergeant (retired). It was an honor and privilege to meet your beautiful family and for us to be able to pay our respects to Mr Larry Collins. May you rest in peace.

You may have seen us in and around Birmingham, Tuscaloosa, or even Cullman since 2016, but allow us to formally introduce ourselves. We are CVMA® 28-5, “The Iron City Chapter” of the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association®. We are a registered 501(c)(3) Veterans’ Charity. We are an Association of Combat Veterans who ride motorcycles for a hobby. We do wear a One Piece Patch, but we are NOT a MOTORCYCLE CLUB (MC), we do not have a clubhouse, and we do not claim territory.

Our membership is comprised of Full Members (those with verified combat service), Supporter Members (those who have non-combat military service and have a strong dedication to helping veterans), and Auxiliary Members (Spouses of both Full and Support members). We have members from all 50 states and numerous countries abroad, including combat areas.

Now that you know who we are, allow us to explain the meaning behind our patch we wear, which is pictured here.

Our CVMA® Patch has very special meaning to our members and is represented by the following colors and symbols.

RED, representing the blood that has been shed on the battlefield.

MILITARY GOLD, representing ALL branches of the military service of the United States.

BLACK, representing the heavy hearts possessed for those who gave their lives and for those that are considered missing in action or prisoners of war.

The SKULL and ACE of SPADES, representing the death that war leaves in its wake.

Our motto is Vets Helping Vets, and every event we host, all proceeds go toward helping Vets! We look forward to seeing everyone and helping as many Veterans as we can throughout Central Alabama!
