📚BACKGROUND
👉🏻 Americans on both sides of the political divide agree, rein in AI or else we die.
👉🏻The focus of the objections has been on the strain these mega centers put on water and power resources but industry leaders themselves are warning of the dangers of out-of-control AI and its threat to humanity
👉🏻 The House’s Ratepayers Protection Act only asks state regulators to consider making data centers cover their own grid and water costs while failing to address AI safety and the cost to human health because of light and noise pollution. 👉🏻👉🏻Exposure to bright lights at night is linked to an increased risk of heart problems, including heart failure, heart attacks, and stroke
👉🏻AI data centers emit nonstop noise up to 96 decibels. They also emit low-frequency “infrasound” that humans feel as pressure but the ears don’t hear. Residents living near data centers report dizziness, nausea, vertigo, insomnia, headaches and anxiety. Experts (See Source) attribute these symptoms to data center noise pollution.
