A Word from the Director:

In today’s world, literacy is more important than ever. The ability to read, communicate, and continue learning opens doors to employment, independence, confidence, and opportunity.

At Birmingham Jumpstart, we see firsthand how education changes lives. Every class attended, every English lesson practiced, every GED goal pursued, and every volunteer hour invested helps strengthen not only individuals—but our entire community.

We are grateful for every student, volunteer, supporter, and partner who continues to believe in this mission. Together, we are creating brighter futures one step, one lesson, and one success story at a time.

Our mission is to empower teens and adults through tailored literacy and

Our unique, step-by-step programs are designed for individuals who:

• Are new to reading or have foundational skill gaps.

• Have found reading challenging in traditional settings.

• Prefer new concepts introduced in digestible segments.

• Benefit from highly organized and sequential learning.

• Seek to improve their basic reading comprehension for greater achievement.

We are working diligently to build a stronger, more literate Birmingham.

Thank you to everyone who supported us at Rojo Birmingham

We had such a wonderful time connecting with others and sharing more about literacy and the educational programs offered through Birmingham Jumpstart. It was truly a great evening enjoyed by everyone in attendance.

A very special thank you to Laney Clark and the incredible staff at Rojo! You all made us feel so welcomed and appreciated all throughout the night. Your kindness and hospitality meant so much to us!
