04/23/2026 Pastor Artist Dinner:
we were reminded of the quote from Benjamin Cremer:

“In a world of noise and confusion, perhaps we will find him where we always have, walking alongside the weary, present in honest conversation, revealed in shared bread, and known in acts of quiet, self-giving love.”

The people who were at this table were the embodiment of such words! InSpero exists because of this belief.
Belief in the power of breaking bread together.
Belief in the power of vulnerability!

Yesterday evening, InSpero gathered in a garden, and around a table to fellowship with local Birmingham pastors and artists.
This is one of our most important events of the year, and it is always an honor to steward such wonderful people in intentional conversation.
This feast if you will, would not have been possible without the help and creative minds of many people.

Firstly, has opened her home to us yet again! Her home speaks for itself, and is a work of art that welcomes gatherings like this dinner with ease and grace!

Thank you to our own and for their posture around the table discussion. They lead with vision and a curiosity to find beauty in all nooks and crannies.

To Chef Michael Brady, his culinary genius blew us away, and his way of service only added to the experience and ambiance.

To for capturing the essence of the Pastor, Artist Dinner with such ease and intention.

To Natalie and Zach for serving with willing hearts, for pouring the wine and water, for words of life, and for carrying the vision of InSpero with grace and joy!

To every pastor and artist that showed up with open hearts. You are impressive, marked by a radical vulnerability!

Finally, perhaps the biggest thank you to our donors and those who believe in the mission of InSpero in bringing heaven to earth. This environment would not be able to be sustained and cultivated without your belief and support.

A few months ago we had the joy and honor of welcoming Melissa Salem to our board of directors!

Melissa believes fiercely in the beauty of redemption that reveals itself through art, music, and story.
Deeply influenced by C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, and Madeline L’Engle, Melissa’s life, work, and deep love for hospitality are rooted in the conviction that beauty, inspired by community, is God’s quiet invitation to hope, and that every lite carries a redemption story waiting to be seen and shared!

We are blessed to share InSpero’s own, Gina Hurry will be taking a sabbatical March- mid September 2026 and will be stepping down as CEO as she and her family are embracing a beautiful new chapter in their story…
She is not going anywhere lol and will remain in a non-term Founder seat on our Board and continue as a mentor and InSpero champion.
Our Board is in a good and strong place and we are ready to lead this transition and covet your prayers as we lean in by faith to care for Pastors and Artists in our city.
We are humbled by YOU- friends who continue to pray and serve and give alongside us to see Birmingham look more like heaven!
We are thrilled to share we are in the process of forming a Junior Board and are truly thrilled to fan their flames and champion their hearts and dreams.
❤️‍🔥They are our future !!❤️‍🔥
We are so grateful Gina can be free to step into a new season and we are excited to bless and watch her flourish as she and Tim love and care for their growing family (wedding season is upon them with their youngest and grandbaby # 3 on the way this summer).
Grateful they can invest together in their beautiful growing church community, small group family, her painting, practicing hospitality, lay counselor training and whatever else life brings…
Gina has been the catalyst of True Beauty in the midst of Birmingham and beyond. She breaks barriers and breathes new life into those who come into contact with her!

I will thank the LORD for giving me counsel; my heart also chastens me in the night season. I have set
the LORD always before me; he is at my right hand; therefore I shall not fall.
Psalm 16:8-9

As we are a few days now into the Lenten season, we reflect on last week’s Lent gathering.

Lent is a powerful season, no matter what your church background, if you approach it freshly, humbly and honestly. Think of these 40 days as a time to repent, return, refocus, and renew ourselves before Christ, in anticipation of his death and resurrection!

Isaiah 60
19
You won’t need the sun to brighten the day
or the moon and lamps to give you light. The Eternal One will be all the light you ever need.
Your God will provide your glory, brilliance for all time.
20
Your sun will never set;
your moon will never be eclipsed in shadow,
For you’ll bask in the Eternal’s light and silver splendor forever.
Never again will you suffer the dark night of despair and gloom of mourning.
21
All the people will be right with God,
and they’ll stay in the land they possess forever.

What a gift to be led dear, Jess Ray at our recent Vision Retreat.
It’s hard to even put into words the beauty we experienced in community.
Thank you for leading us to sink into the deep and wide mystery of God and all He has planned for us as we reflect His light … now and in the “not yet” that is coming.
Jess, you are a gift to us!
Thank you for leading with such beautiful tenderness and trust🤍
