🎬 FREE OPPORTUNITY FOR BIRMINGHAM’S YOUTH!

We believe exposing young people to new experiences can open doors they didn’t even know existed.

That’s why we’re excited to share the 2026 Youth Filmmakers Symposium, hosted by Cinematic Creations Agency & Just Be Reel Foundation — an opportunity designed to make filmmaking, media, and creative careers more accessible to young people right here in Birmingham.

On Friday, October 30, students and young creatives will have the opportunity to connect with industry professionals, participate in meaningful conversations, explore financial literacy and career pathways, and experience a day centered around creativity, entertainment, and possibility.

📍 The Dannon Project
📅 October 30, 2026
⏰ 9:00 AM–1:00 PM
🎟️ FREE EVENT

Whether your young person is already interested in film or simply curious about what’s possible beyond the classroom, this is an opportunity worth exploring.

Parents, educators, youth organizations, and school partners — SHARE this with a young person who needs to see what’s possible.

🎟️ Registration is required: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSefKEzQLHBW0eoxoD2Pj-1-Y4k2nQm2YHaxJU0w4XLa6Q45VQ/viewform?pli=1

Let’s continue putting our young people in rooms, conversations, and experiences that expand their vision for their future.

It’s more than exposure. It’s access. It’s opportunity. It’s possibility.

What happens at the ballot box doesn’t stay at the ballot box.

The decisions made through our elections reach into the places we live, the schools our children attend, the healthcare we receive, the utilities we depend on, the taxes we pay on groceries, the opportunities available to us, and the future we are working to build.

These everyday realities are connected to the decisions being made around us — and voting is one of the ways we make our voices heard about what our community needs, what we value, and what we want the future to look like.

Too often, we talk about what needs to change without talking about the power we have to participate in that change. Our voices matter. Our questions matter. Our presence matters. And our vote is one of the most direct ways we can make our voices count.

That’s why So Fresh & So Clean Haircuts 4 Youth has partnered with Reach the 619 to bring this conversation directly into the community. Together, we’re creating space to get informed, ask questions, seek answers, and understand how civic engagement connects to the issues we face every day.

And there’s no better place to have that conversation than Etheridge Brothers Barbershop, where Black legacy, entrepreneurship, and community have been brewing for generations.

With just 9 days until Election Day, let’s take the time to understand what’s on the ballot, why it matters, and how our participation can help shape what comes next.

We’re coming together to ask questions for answers. To listen. To learn. To understand.

Because the future of our community is worth showing up for.

🗣️ BARBERSHOP TALK IS ONLY 2 DAYS AWAY!

📅 Tuesday, October 27, 2026
⏰ 6:00–8:00 PM

Come listen. Come learn. Come ask questions. Come connect.

ENSLEY, What happens when a community decides to show up for its young people? THIS. ❤️

Today, So Fresh & So Clean Haircuts 4 Youth had the privilege of planting seeds of love, confidence, opportunity, and resources in Ensley — and what a day it was!

A HUGE thank you to our Impact team: Tank, Minister Dock, and the talented barbers-in-training from Lawson State Community College, who served approximately 35 young people with fresh haircuts. 💈💙

Our keynote speaker, Valton Johnson of Cinematic Creations Agency, was absolutely MARVELOUS! He poured into our youth about the beauty of film, storytelling, and the many career possibilities within entertainment. With the help of Content Strategist Angel Ivana, our young people received giveaways and invitations to Cinematic Creations Agency’s upcoming Film Symposium next Friday at 9:00 AM at The Dannon Project. Exposure matters. Access matters. Possibility matters.

We’re grateful to Travis Hendrix for his continued support and work throughout Ensley, and for believing in bringing resources directly to the people.

To The Lion’s Cross Apostolic Church — THANK YOU for welcoming us and allowing us to plant seeds of love, encouragement, and opportunity alongside your congregation in Ensley.

And then there were our babies! ❤️

A special shoutout to RJ from West End Academy and Jay from Sun Valley Elementary, two young men we’ve had the privilege of impacting through our School Tour. Seeing them again today — giving them fresh cuts, hugs, and moments with their families — reminded us exactly WHY we do what we do. This work is bigger than a haircut. It’s about relationship, consistency, and showing our young people they are seen, valued, and supported.

Another HUGE thank you to Justice Houser and SkyRocket Studios for sponsoring today’s audio setup.

To every barber, volunteer, partner, family, speaker, sponsor, and community member who made today possible — THANK YOU.

This is what it’s all about: Community, Impact, & Purpose.

God is SO good. 🙏🏾❤️

💈 LICENSED BARBERS, WE NEED YOU!

We’re calling on licensed barbers in our Birmingham community who are willing to donate their time and talent to help us provide line-ups and temp-fades for the young men we serve.

You can volunteer for:
10 AM–1 PM
12 PM–3 PM
OR 10 AM–3 PM

You don’t have to give us the whole day. A few hours in the chair can make a meaningful difference.

If you’re a licensed barber and would like to serve, text our Executive Director, Arryana, at 470-832-0804 to let us know which time slot you’d like to volunteer for.

✂️ FAMILIES, HERE’S YOUR REMINDER!
Boys will have designated haircut appointment slots, and haircut appointments will stop being accepted at 1 PM.

If you’re planning to bring a young man for a haircut, we encourage you to secure his time slot early!

Because this is about more than a haircut.
It’s about the conversation that happens in the chair.
It’s about confidence.
It’s about community.
It’s about giving our young people positive experiences and people they can look up to.
Ensley, come be a part of it!

Bring the youth. Invite a family. Share this post. And if you’re a licensed barber, use your gift to give back.

🌱 We’re planting seeds today for a brighter tomorrow.
