On Wednesday, May 13th, Huntsville Children’s Rehabilitation Service staff members wore pink in memory of Libby Hagan, whose journey inspired her family to start Libby's Friends . Today marks one year since Libby passed. Her family misses her every single day. So do we.

Libby believed that every child deserves to be seen, heard, and celebrated exactly as they are. That belief didn’t end on May 13, 2025. It lives on in this community, in every grant we award, in every kid we get to serve.

If you’re wearing pink today, if you changed your profile picture, if you’re thinking of Libby: thank you. You’re keeping her memory alive in the most beautiful way.

How can a year feel both impossibly long and unbelievably fast?

This year was proof that grief and gratitude can exist at the same time.

There was laughter.
There were milestones.
There were beautiful memories made.

And in every single one, there was also the quiet ache of missing Libby.

Because grief isn’t always loud.
Sometimes it looks like smiling through tears.
Sometimes it looks like carrying on because you have to.
Sometimes it looks like finding joy again and feeling guilty for it.

Grief doesn’t mean the absence of joy.
It means learning to make space for both.

Tomorrow marks one year without our sweet girl.

May 13th marks one year since we lost Libby Hagan. She was 10 years old, and she is the reason everything we do exists.

This Wednesday, we’re asking you to do two things in her memory: change your profile picture to this graphic and WEAR PINK. 💗

Put it on before school drop-off, wear it to work, throw on a pink hat. Just let the day mean something.

Share a photo and tag us. We want to see how far Libby’s pink reaches.

It’s New Friend Friday!! Meet our new friend JC 💗

Some stories come full circle in the most meaningful ways. JC was in the very same NICU as Libby at the very same time, which makes being able to support his family feel especially close to our hearts.

Libby’s Friends was honored to provide funding for JC’s new PPod, giving him a safe, supportive, cozy place to rest, relax, and just be a kid.

This is exactly why Libby’s legacy lives on… turning shared hard seasons into hope for other families walking a similar road.
