🚨We have a question for local officials.

There is supposed to be a PAUSE ON SWEEPS!

SO WHY ARE OUR FRIENDS STILL BEING SWEPT?!

We know these people. We visit these encampments every week. We build relationships with the people living there, and we see what’s happening with our own eyes.

If there’s truly a pause on sweeps, then respect it.

Every sweep means people risk losing their belongings. It creates even more chaos for people who are already among the most vulnerable in our community.

It makes it harder for people to stay connected to resources, destroys what little stability they have, and pushes people further into crisis.

Please stop sweeping our friends.

We’re doing our part by trying to fill the gaps you've created with your lack of leadership.

We’re asking local officials to at least KEEP YOUR WORD ON THE PAUSE ON SWEEPS.

Thank you to the students of Binghamton University’s Party With a Purpose and Dr.Dula for choosing GloryShines Foundation and raising $6,604.38.

While our community continues to wrestle with a housing crisis, we’re grateful these students chose to support those most impacted. Thank you for believing in and seeing the importance of our work ❤️

Every year, Department of Public Administration and Policy at Binghamton University students engage in a semester-long charitable giving project that culminates in Party With a Purpose (PWAP), to raise money for a local Broome County nonprofit. This year, GloryShines Foundation, a Black-led mobile food pantry and mutual aid initiative serving unhoused families in Broome County, NY, has received a record-breaking PWAP check of $6,604.38. Students from the Spring PAFF 552 course, Carla Gonzalez and Paris Defreitas MPA ‘26, presented the check to Sana Wakefield, co-founder and board President of GloryShines, who accepted it with her husband and GloryShines volunteer, Masai Andrews.
