Today we had our annual August Field Trip! This time we rode Amtrak to New Orleans to visit The Historic New Orleans Collection for the American Revolution interactive exhibit. Afterwards we are at Mr B's Bistro. Shops were next and then back on the train to the Mississippi Gulf Coast!

National Korean War Veterans Armistice Day is observed every year on July 27 to mark the 1953 cease-fire that ended active fighting in the Korean War. It honors the service of nearly 1.8 million Americans and remembers those who lost their lives. Date: July 27 of each year.Significance: Commemorates the 1953 armistice agreement signed by the United Nations Command, North Korea, and China.Traditions: U.S. flags are displayed at half-staff from sunrise to sunset by presidential proclamation.Status: It is not a federal public holiday; government offices and businesses remain open.
