Are you and I just part of a computer simulation?
One thing is sure - we are not. In a computer simulation, simplified pseudo-objects stand in for real objects. If I am simulating traffic, instead of having physical cars I have memory structures representing certain characteristics of the movement of cars. Now, we can get more sophisticated - suppose I have a flight simulator. It simulates certain characteristics of flight - but it doesn't fly. You can crash it all day long and not die because it isn't the real thing.
I've been told by my creator what I am, why I was created, and how I'm supposed to operate. Naturally, that's what I turn out to be - not some electronic shell representing certain selected components thereof. You and I actually function in the real world. Our eyes see, our ears hear, our mind, will, and emotions respond, and our bodies take corresponding action.
But is there more to the story? Yes there is. I was created in the image and likeness of Someone greater than myself - the thongs of whose sandals I am not worthy to stoop down and untie. Yes, He desires to make me, in character, like Himself. When you find eternity in your heart, a wondering whether you were not made for something more than this world, there's a reason - God has placed eternity in the hearts of men.
