Update 7/16/26: GOAL MET. A huge thank you to those who have donated, as we have now met our fundraising goal for moving costs. Our Mutual Aid work will continue, as we are receiving significant requests for support. Donations will continue to be accepted via Venmo to fulfill these requests. We will do a separate post with more details soon, stay tuned.
Johan Sebastián's family is currently living just feet away from where he was tragically murdered. As a community, we realize how jarring and unsettling it must be for them to be surrounded by the daily sensory reminders of this traumatic loss.
While we cannot take away this family's unimaginable pain, we can help them create a safe environment that is better suited for healing. We are working to help the family access funding so they can move as soon as possible, without having to wait for GoFundMe distributions.
They have already located a new apartment and anticipate the initial move-in costs to be $6,000. If you are able, please donate via the Better Biddeford website. We will facilitate getting these funds directly to the family right away.
