Meet the Friends of FFF!

Meet LeeAndra - FFF Board Member

What inspired you to join FFF?
I have a deep love for cats. I believe in the mission of FFF and that it is having a positive impact on our community. I wanted to be a part of their efforts and help in any way I could.

What’s one thing people would be surprised to learn about rescue work?
It takes a lot of behind the scenes work. It’s not just loving on cute kitties. There is a lot of planning and hard work that goes into making good things happen.

Favorite cat name you’ve used?
Helen

Favorite kitten feature: toe beans, tiny meows, giant ears, tiny chaos, other?
Baby biscuit makers!

❤️UPDATE!! We have met our goal for this match!! Thank you all so much for your support!!

A huge thank you to an anonymous donor for stepping up to support outdoor/community cats in our area ❤️

They’ve offered to MATCH donations up to $150, and because this stacks with our existing grant match, your donation can go FOUR TIMES as far!

🐾 $5 becomes $20
🐾 $10 becomes $40
🐾 $20 becomes $80

When we reach our ultimate goal, we’ll fund at least 40 FREE spay/neuter surgeries for outdoor cats, and with support like this, we may be able to help even more!! ✂️✂️

Want to sponsor a match like this? Send us a message!

🐾 Donate at www.fairgroundfelines.org/grant - we will update this post when the $150 has been reached.

Get to know the Friends of FFF!

Meet Karen - FFF President

What inspired you to join FFF?
Learning about the spay and neuter program and seeing an opportunity to help

What’s one thing people would be surprised to learn about rescue work?
It's not all success stories. For every success, at some point, you will encounter the heartbreak of it not going your way.

What ridiculous thing has a cat trained you to do?
Fluff their food

Do you have an FFF rescue story you would like to share?
We got a report from a volunteer about a kitten high up in a tree. The kitten would not come down enough to be caught by conventional measures, and we had to call the fire department to assist. Good thing it was a slow day! The rescued kitten certainly earned it's new name of Squirrel.

Clinic day ❤️🐾

These are the days that remind us why this work matters.

Every cat seen at clinic is one more cat helped, one less future litter born, and one more step toward helping the cats in our community.

Right now, donations to our matching grant campaign are being doubled, which means more clinic days and more cats helped.

If you’d like to support this work, now’s the perfect time.

🐾 WOW!! 37% IN JUST 24 HOURS! 🐾

In the first 24 hours of our campaign, we’ve already reached 37% of our fundraising goal,a nd we are incredibly grateful for this amazing support ❤️

This kind of momentum shows just how much our community cares about outdoor/community cats.

But we’re not done yet.

Every dollar donated to this campaign helps us provide FREE spay/neuter services for outdoor cats in our area, and the more we raise, the more cats we can help.

Spay and neuter is one of the most effective ways to reduce suffering, prevent future litters, and minimize the number of homeless cats in our community.

Let’s keep this momentum going 🐾

If you’ve been thinking about donating, now is the perfect time to help us reach even more cats.

BIG NEWS for Friends of Forgotten Felines 🐾

For the very first time, FFF has been selected for a matching grant opportunity through the Community Cats Grants Program administered by Spay Alliance .

From May 16 – August 16, every dollar donated (up to $2,000) will be MATCHED.
That means together we can turn $2,000 into $4,000 to help outdoor/community cats in our area.

If we reach our goal, we will be able to provide at least 40 FREE spay/neuter surgeries for outdoor cats.

Spay and neuter is one of the most effective ways to reduce suffering, prevent future litters, and minimize the number of homeless cats in our community.
