Miss Olive is a 5 month old Chihuahua mix, weighing 6 #. She is that perfect mix of zoomies and snuggles. One minute she is sprinting laps like she is training for the Puppy Olympics. The next, she is snuggled up on your lap.

This smart chi is kennel trained and considers her crate a luxury nap suite. If the door is open, she will wander in on her own for a midday recharge. She will happily sleep as long as you let her. Potty training is a work in progress, but she is young, eager, and very capable of learning with a little consistency.

Olive warms up quickly with gentle introductions and has been comfortable around kids and dogs of all sizes. She can be a bit jumpy. Life is exciting when you’re small and mighty. Continued puppy obedience training will help her build confidence and polish her manners. We recommend Fur Better Fur Worse Dog Training. A fenced yard would be a dream come true for this girl. She loves to run and burn off her energy. An active, patient dog sibling would also be a huge bonus because Olive is a certified play enthusiast. And yes… she barks. Mostly at her reflection in a mirror/window 🤣.

Miss Olive is looking for a home that will embrace her puppy energy, invest in her training, and laugh at her dramatic conversations with the dog in the mirror. Olive is spayed, current on vaccines and prevention, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $300. To meet Olive, please submit an application at www.k9kindnessrescue.org/adopt. As a reminder, we are not a shelter location and require a scheduled meet and greet.

Adopters must live within 175 miles of the Quad Cities. All pets currently in the home must be routinely kept up to date on shots, prevention and fixed to be approved for adoption.

We welcomed an adorable little senior named Maggie today. At 12 years young, she took a very brave step leaving the only family she’s ever known. Her mom recently had to move into a senior living facility and wanted nothing more than to make sure Maggie would be safe and loved. When we met her on Monday, we knew instantly she belonged with us.

Today was a full spa and checkup day for Maggie. She received a fresh groom, bath, nail trim, and a visit with Dr. Mindy at Animal Family. Maggie handled it all like a champ. She will need a dental surgery also, depending on her bloodwork. Maggie is surrounded by people making sure her next chapter is filled with comfort, care, and love.

Senior and medical dogs hold a special place in our hearts. They often come with extra needs and expenses, but we wouldn’t trade the privilege of caring for them for anything. 🐾💜

Dunkin would like to formally announce that he has graduated beginner obedience 🎓

Yes, yes, technically all dogs graduate… but Dunkin didn’t just pass. He crushed it! Star student. Extra credit energy.

He was such a good boy that he’s already been invited to move up to intermediate. Big leagues, here he comes.

Go Dunkin, go! 🐾💜

Izzy is a 10 pound mixed breed of resilience and chaotic joy. At around a year old, she’s basically a puppy with a comeback story and a crooked little smile that somehow makes her even cuter.

Izzy is healing from a broken jaw and needs to gain a bit of weight, but don’t let her tiny size fool you. Izzy runs on rocket fuel. She’s high energy, always ready to play, and absolutely obsessed with toys. She needs supervision with stuffy toys because she thinks they’re snacks.

She’s crate trained, still working on house training, and gets along wonderfully with dogs, kids, and cats. She’s the social butterfly of the household and would love a family that’s ready to keep up with her busy schedule of zoomies and cuddles.

Izzy will always have a slightly crooked jaw due to her partial mandibulectomy, but it just adds to her charm. It’s the kind of smile that tells you she’s been through things and came out the other side wagging. Life may not have always been gentle with her, but she is full of resilience and ready to bring joy and comic relief to her new family.

Izzy will be spayed prior to adoption. She is current on vaccines and prevention and is microchipped. Her adoption fee is $300. To meet her, please submit an application at www.k9kindnessrescue.org/adopt. As a reminder, we are not a shelter location and require a scheduled meet and greet.

🚨The Humane Society of Scott County has our full support — 100%.🚨

We are heartbroken to hear that the City of Davenport plans to end its contract with the Humane Society of Scott County at the end of this year.

We’ve seen what happens when communities lose these partnerships. In nearby counties ending contracts with Humane Societies has not worked and animals have suffered. We’ve personally received calls from the Clinton Police Department asking for help with dogs being held at the station because there was nowhere else for them to go.

Without a humane society contract in place for 2027, critical questions remain: Where will stray animals go? Who will house and vaccinate them? Who will help reunite them with their families? HSSC does an amazing job at protecting our local animals and making sure they get what they need- which yes- IS expensive and requires funds.

This decision will have real consequences for animals, law enforcement, and the community. This is devastating news for Davenport.

How can you help?

Some wonderful news for Izzy, and here she is strutting her stuff down the runway! Her final jaw surgery was a success! She’s now medically cleared to play with toys again and can slowly transition back to hard kibble. We are thrilled she can be a normal dog again!!

Huge thank you to Dr. Laura Bahns at Creekside for everything she has done to help Izzy’s jaw, her fosters for giving Izzy a loving home throughout the process, and Claire at Parkview Pet Stylists for Izzy’s glow up. She’s looking fabulous and feeling lighter, happier, and healthier!

We also want to thank the Humane Society of Scott County for their partnership and covering Izzy’s costs with the funds they raised for her. She is a lucky pupper to have so many in her corner 🐾💜

Dexter is a 6 year old, 66 # boxer mix with a full body wiggle, a lethal happy tail, and a heart that just wants to belong to someone. He’s energetic, goofy, and absolutely obsessed with loving his people.

Dexter is what we call a professional lap dog in a linebacker body. He wants to be touching his person at all times and will happily sleep as close to you as physics allows. He gives infinite kisses and believes this is a public service. His heart is gentle, but his body just hasn’t learned its size. Therefore, homes with dogs his size and older children only would be best.

Dexter is house trained, although every dog needs time to adjust to new schedules. He’s not a big barker. Dexter loves being outside and is on the higher energy side. It’s honestly hard to believe he’s 6!

Dexter’s second great love: food. This boy is a master thief with a PhD in snack acquisition. He counter surfs, table surfs, opens cabinets, and will absolutely help himself to anything interesting. He once opened a cabinet, got the top off of a peanut butter jar, and enjoyed a solo snack before getting caught in the act. Because of this impressive talent, he should be crated when home alone.

Dexter is willing to share water bowls and most toys, but he will guard high value treats and favorite treasures. He should enjoy those safely in his crate.

Dexter is wildly affectionate, hilarious, and larger than life in the best way. He is neutered, current on vaccines and prevention, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $300. To meet Dexter, please submit an application at

We welcomed 🫒Olive to K9 Kindness. She is an adorable little Chihuahua mix from the Humane Society of Scott County. She is a playful busy body!

Olive will visit our vet and be spayed prior to adoption. She will make someone a fun little companion! She is around 4-5 months old is our best guess.

This handsome boy is Ducky! He has been with us almost a year now. He is a mixed breed puppy around a year old. One of his littermates had a DNA test done and he is mostly Aussie/Border Collie, with several other breeds in the mix. Help us get his bio out there so Ducky can find his forever home!

Ducky had a rough start in life. He was a stray in a rural town with way too many strays. He did not have much human socialization prior to coming to our rescue. The day after he arrived, the litter broke with parvo further delaying his socialization. We spent thousands of dollars and countless hours of TLC nursing him and his littermates back to health. We want to set them up for success in their new homes.

Ducky is a sweet shy boy. He is social and wants human interaction, but needs someone who will go slowly with him. Once he bonds to you, he is your pal for life! Ducky needs a home without small children or children that visit regularly. He needs someone that understands he is scared and not force him into situations that are overwhelming for him. He needs continued work on associating humans with positive experiences.

Ducky is house and crate trained. He is living with 2 other dogs and would do fine with a playmate - when introduced slowly. He would also do well as an only. He loves stretching in the grass and being outside. He has started obedience training at Fur Better Fur Worse and is doing so well!

Ducky is current on vaccines and prevention and is microchipped. He will be neutered prior to adoption. Ducky’s adoption fee is $300. To meet him, please submit an application at www.k9kindnessrescue.org/adopt. As a reminder, we are not a shelter location and require a scheduled meet and greet.
