There are so many special partners celebrating our 30th year with us! From building with the Orlando Magic to attending special in-stadium moments with the San Jose Sharks and San Francisco Giants.

The power of community shows in our work every day, but we're especially grateful for these magical moments of connection with athletes who show up on and off the field. These teams show what it means to connect not only with their teammates, but with their communities.

🎥 A special message from Baltimore

Mayor Brandon M. Scott has been a strong advocate for playspace equity and creating opportunities for youth to have a stronger start in life. The shifts he’s making in Baltimore to prioritize parks and recreation and safety as a public health issue are making the city a better place for kids and families to live and enjoy.

We are appreciative of his support of KABOOM! over the years and for recently sharing a special message celebrating our 30th Anniversary in honor of the transformational work we've done together in Baltimore. Together we have built 27 playgrounds and we won't stop until every kid in Baltimore can experience the joy and all of the benefits of having places to play.

Boomers are also getting into the 30th birthday spirit with a friendly competition of our own! Now until the end of the year, all KABOOM! departments are going deep into their pockets and peer groups to raise donations for our Unlocking Possibilities Fund.

So far, we crown the Development Team as our inaugural winners, leading the way with the first donors to contribute.

The challenge is now open — which team will rise to the top next month? Stay tuned to see who wins bragging rights and some cool prizes for leading the way and helping us build a world where every kid has a joyful place to play.

When young people speak, we should listen.

Three youth advocates shared candid reflections on what mental health support looks like in today’s world: trusted adults who listen without judgment, environments that feel safe and inclusive, and opportunities to experience joy and real connection.

Supporting youth mental health requires creating safe spaces for them to express themselves, building trust-based relationships, and partnering across sectors and with our youth to ensure solutions and resources meet their needs, knowing a one size fits all approach won't work.

Their words are shaping our work—and reminding us what’s at stake.

We are thrilled to share a milestone moment in KABOOM!'s 30th anniversary year — the completion of a brand-new playspace at Mary Ann Winterling Elementary School, in partnership with Baltimore City Public Schools and DaVita Kidney Care.

This build is more than a playground. It is a testament to what happens when passionate partners come together with one shared goal: ensuring every child has a safe, joyful, and inspiring place to play. The students at Mary Ann Winterling Elementary now have a vibrant outdoor space designed with them in mind — and that makes all the difference.

KABOOM! and The Baltimore (MD) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., with generous support from Senator Antonio Hayes, are partnering to ensure kids in Baltimore have more opportunities to play as an important part of childhood and healthy development.
