Bethel Area Business Association - BABA Bethel Area Business Association (BABA) was organized to unify and promote the business community in the Bethel area.

The Bethel Area Business Association shall serve its Members as a trade association and, as such, may undertake the following activities (among others):

(a) Foster trades, services, business and responsible development;

(b) Identify and encourage expansion of commercial opportunities;

(c) Develop awareness of career opportunities available to those who live a

nd work within the Bethel region of western Maine including (but not limited to) the communities of Bethel, Newry, Woodstock, Greenwood, Gilead and Hanover, Maine, and surrounding communities in Maine or New Hampshire (the “Bethel area”);

(d) Collaborate with local schools, community colleges and other appropriate educational institutions serving the Bethel Area (that may be located in Maine or New Hampshire) to expand relevant career education programs and promote continuing education opportunities for youth and adults;

(e) Support legislative and regulatory reform conducive to business growth and development;

(f) Support responsible development; and

(g) Support and defend private property rights and oppose the indiscrimminant use of eminent domain.

The Bethel Area Business Association wants to extend a HUGE thank you to all of our amazing sponsors for helping make Molly Ockett Day on August 8th possible!

JOIN THE FUN! ☀️🥳✨

Who? YOU…, your family, your business.

What? Take part in the Molly Ockett Day Parade

Where? Bethel, Maine. Gathering in the parking lot of the River Lanes Bowling Alley to eventually proceed up Main Street and around the Common.

When? Saturday, August 8th. Parade start time is 10:30am. Please arrive at the parking lot by 9:30am to get paperwork in and lined up. We prefer pre-registration, but same-day entries are allowed as long as we can keep up.

WHY? To help celebrate the return of Molly Ockett Day!
We welcome individual entries, groups, business floats, business fleets, organizations, vehicles, horses, horsedrawn carriages, ATVs, etc. This year’s theme is “Celebrating America,” leaving it open to countless options, but showing your American spirit and celebrating America’s 250th birthday.

To preregister, go to https://forms.gle/Z3gfdyPRN5wYBEzbA, or fill out the attached forms and return them to Ellen at Maine Line Products in Greenwood, or bring the completed forms on the day of the parade!

There is no fee to participate; participants must sign liability waivers.

The River Fund Maine has opened scholarship opportunities to seniors are only open to students who reside in AND attend a school within the RSU 10 and SAD 44 school districts.

The scholarship is intended for students desiring to pursuing a career in the trade or technical fields. Students may choose to attend a one or two-year program at trade school, technical school or community college of their choice located in the state of Maine or Coos or Carroll Counties in New Hampshire. The scholarship amount awarded is $20,000 for a two-year program or $10,000 for a one year program.

This scholarship is NOT intended for students choosing community college as a means of then transferring to a four-year college or university. We ask that school officials guiding their students through our application process make this clear.
