Did you know? Good information….⬇️

Just because it is small, spotted and ridiculously cute does not mean it needs your help.

Many young animals are left alone for long periods of time. Mom is probably eating nearby, wondering why you are being weird. Let her have a meal in peace and remember that picking up her baby can do more harm than good.

Your job:
✔️Admire from a distance
✔️Take a picture, not the critter
✔️Leave it alone

This ❤️…. Take a drive, grab some lunch at The Damn Grill and then head to Hill Country Humane Society. 🐾❤️ 🐾

Dog adoption fees are $0 through May 17 thanks to BISSELL Pet Foundation Empty the Shelters event.

And we need this right now.

After several weeks of extremely high intakes, HCHS is at capacity. Every kennel matters. Every adoption matters. Every foster home matters.

If you have been thinking about adopting, this is the time. Our adoptable dogs are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready to go home.

Not sure you are ready to adopt? Foster first.

You can take a dog home, give them a break from the shelter, and have two weeks to decide before making it official. No pressure. No commitment. Even if it does not work out, that dog gets time out of the kennel, and we learn more about them to help find the right home.

Come meet them today, you won't regret it!

Please be on the lookout for these pups. The family is devastated.

If you see them please don’t chase them. The pups are most likely very frightened. Contact us or the number on the flyer so that we can get them safely caught and reunited with the family 💚 Share this post so that we can get the word out to as many as possible.

We are still in need of volunteers. Currently we have 3 active volunteers putting in about 7 hours collectively each week. At any given time we have over 120 animals, 20 plus species, in our care. We also have on-site and off-site activities that we do regularly. It’s a great opportunity to spend time with and learn about animals and also give back time to an amazing organization.

If you are interested in volunteer information give us a call. We are family friendly and have a minimum age of 3 years old as long as minors are accompanied by a parent or guardian.

This is our sweet Muscovy Girdie. We let our animals live out as much of a natural life as possible. When we have birds sitting on Eggs, we let them be.
