A big thank you to everyone who donated to the Berlin Community Fridge this week! We’ve had so much support from both new and familiar faces, and we’re so grateful to everyone who continues to show up for our community.

A special thank you to New England Family Housing for their donation to the fridge and pantry, to Brandi Soden for hamburger and rice meals, Lynn Blais for spaghetti meals & macroni salads, and to Mr. Auto LLC and Gorham Middle & High School students for their meals. Your kindness makes a real difference!

We also want to thank Seventh Street Graphics for helping us with some new signs for the fridge! They aren’t installed just yet, so stay tuned!

As always, a quick reminder that we don’t post in real time, and photos don’t reflect what’s currently available. The fridge is here for everyone, 24/7, at Gilbert Street next to the Parks & Rec garage. Inventory changes constantly and is entirely supported by community donations. Take what you need, leave what you can.

Thank you for continuing to help us fight insecurity with community donations. Every donation matters, and we couldn’t do this without you! As always thank you to the folks who show up every day to make sure the space is clean, safe, and functioning. There would be no community fridge without a small army of volunteers.

A big thank you from the Berlin Community Fridge! We’re so grateful for the generosity and kindness our community continues to show.

Thank you to everyone who donated this week! A special thank you to Robbi Lyn for the lovely soups, Lynn Blais for helping out with the pizza, and Mr. Auto LLC and Gorham Middle & High School for their continued support and commitment to our community.

We also want to take a moment to thank our regular volunteers who work behind the scenes to keep the fridge clean, complete checks, and take care of all the unglamorous work that keeps this community resource running. We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who helps make it possible.

If you’d like to help but are not a cook here are a few of the biggest requests right now that involve no cooking at all:

💚 WEEKLY COMMUNITY FRIDGE UPDATE 💚

We’re feeling extra grateful for the community support that keeps our fridge going each week!

🥘 Mr. Auto continues to make a big impact with their weekly $100 donation, helping our Gorham students purchase ingredients to get groceries and prepare meals for the fridge.

🥡 Chai Tai has generously provided containers, making it possible to package and share meals with our community.

💚 And to everyone who has contributed anonymously this week, through food, supplies, or time, your generosity matters and helps keep the fridge stocked and accessible.

From the students preparing meals to the neighbors who donate and everyone who helps behind the scenes, this fridge truly runs on community.

Thank you for helping us keep good food moving to the people who need it. 🫶

A big thank you to everyone who has donated to the fridge recently! (Just a reminder, these pictures are from the past and do not reflect what is currently available.) Every bag of groceries, meal, pantry item, and little act of kindness makes a difference.

With Homecoming weekend here, we’d love to help make sure any safe, dated leftovers find a home! If you have extra food after your celebrations, please consider donating it to the fridge.

This week we saw the start of something so incredible. Mr. Auto LLC and students from Gorham Middle & High School have teamed up to make a difference in our community. Mr. Auto is providing the donation, while the students are shopping for, planning, making, and delivering meals to the Berlin Community Fridge. We are so grateful to Mr. Auto for helping bring this initiative to life and to the students for putting their time and effort into giving back to their community.

We are so excited to see this grow and can’t wait to see what they come up with each week. What an incredible way to turn a little time and teamwork into something that can make a real difference for our neighbors. ❤️

We have so many wonderful people to be thankful for! 🥰

Levi — Thank you for helping cook and prepare meals for the fridge! Seeing young people understand the importance of giving back and helping their neighbors is truly something special. ❤️

Avery — This amazing young lady helped prepare meals for the fridge at the fridge and is showing such kindness and compassion for her community. Thank you, Avery, for being such a wonderful example of what it means to care for others! 🥰

💚 Weekly Gratitude Post 💚

What an incredible week it has been! Every act of kindness, big or small, reminds us that our community truly cares for one another.
A heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who made a difference this week:

🥘 To Lynn, Irene, and the wonderful volunteer from Family Dollar who prepared homemade ziti, lasagna, salad, and bread to provide hot meals for our neighbors experiencing homelessness or hardship. Thank you also to Robbi for donating delicious desserts to make those meals even more special.

🥪 Thank you to Lynn for also dropping off sandwiches, rolls, zucchini, and other food for the community fridge while continuing to share meals with those in need throughout town. Your generosity reaches so many people.

🥡 A huge thank you to Dynasty for donating more food containers. These donations make it possible for our volunteers to safely package and share meals with our community.

🥫🥖🥘 Thank you to Lighthouse Credit union for donating to the fridge, helping to nourish our community.

🌼 A Little Kindness Goes a Long Way 🌼

Today we found the sweetest surprise waiting at the community fridge... beautiful little mason jars filled with fresh wildflowers, along with a sign that read:

"FREE For the Taking (The Flowers)" 💛

We have no idea who left them, but we want you to know that your kindness didn't go unnoticed. What a beautiful reminder that this little fridge isn't just about feeding hungry stomachs, it's about feeding hearts too.

Someone who may have been having a difficult day got to take home a bouquet simply because a stranger cared enough to make one. That's a pretty special thing.

So to our anonymous flower friend... thank you. Thank you for sharing a little piece of joy, beauty, and love with our community. We hope your kindness comes back to you tenfold. 🌻💐

Sometimes the smallest gestures leave the biggest impact. ❤️

If you’re hosting today, remember that the Berlin Community Fridge happily accepts unopened snacks, individually packaged drinks, fruit and veggie trays, desserts, and other safe-to-share leftovers. If you’re ever unsure whether something can be donated, just send us a message. We’d be happy to help!
