The lupus walk is scheduled for June 22nd 2023 from 12pm to 3pm. The location will be Ostiningo Park in Binghamton , Ny.

We will be doing at least one full lap around the park. It will be followed by live music, games and raffles , food, and so much more. It will take place in rain or shine so dress accordingly to weather, we will have tents put up just in case. One of our objectives is to get a catering service and a dj or band including other artists so stay tuned.

We're asking if you can please wear purple during the event to honor those who are , or have been suffering with Lupus.

Lupus is an auto-immune disease that makes the immune system compromised. It mistakenly attacks the body and immune cells. Its commonly known to effect the kidneys , joints , skin , blood cells , heart and brain. And it is an incurable condition that is prone to having pain and sometimes swelling. Anyone can get lupus; however, women get the disease about nine times more often than men. Most often it happens in people between ages 15 and 45 years, but lupus can occur in childhood or later in life as well. With close follow-up and treatment, 80-90% of people with lupus can expect to live a normal life span. It is true that medical science has not yet developed a method for curing lupus, and some people do die from the disease. However, for the majority of people living with the disease today, it will not be fatal.

Not everyone will have these symptoms , but some symptoms may include :

- Fatigue
- Muscle and joint pain and or swelling
- Headaches and or migraines
- Fevers
- Rashes , must commonly the butterfly rash
- Weight loss or gain
- Hair loss
- Chest discomfort
- Kidney problems
- Anemia
- Memory problems
- Blood clotting
- Sun and or light sensitivity
- Mouth and or nose sores
- Mental problems such as anxiety and depression

This a non-profit organization meant to help with Lupus Awareness. our goal is to help those who are affected by this condition with love and support. Not a lot of people know about this disease and because of that there is tons of people who are struggling trying to battle it every single day. We want those voices to be heard and we want to make sure that no one has to go through this alone.
