The Egg Donor Research Project

The Egg Donor Research Project We are conducting research on egg donors' decisions and experiences. Results will provide more inform

Women have been donating eggs to help other people have children for over 30 years. Since the beginnings of egg donation, there has been little research investigating women's experiences providing eggs, or the impact of the drugs and procedures on donor health and well-being over time. Our goal is to do the research, so that women considering egg donation have more information before going through

the process. We have been interviewing egg donors about their decisions and experiences since 2013, to collect short-term data on how women decide to become egg donors, how they feel about the egg donation process, and levels of satisfaction. We ultimately plan to follow up and collect long-term data, in order to understand how women's views towards their donations may change over time. This information will benefit anyone interested in the short- and long-term impact of egg donation on women's health and well-being.

As I look forward to wrapping up my final week of field research on egg donation in Spain, I am so grateful to all the clinics who helped facilitate the research and egg donors who agreed to participate.
