Help us re-home our very last Helene refugees.

The needs have once again changed, but this time they are adorable. We finally managed to re-stablize the last of our human refugee cases (we had several with severe disabilities) but unfortunately we were left with several animals that need rehoming. I'll drop the deets on how they landed on our doorstep below but the priority is getting them adopted or at least removed from our care. Our staff is still way too overworked and exhausted to have this on their plate. Please interact and share this, tag any animal nonprofits you know of. The puppies are just now old enough to be safely adopted. All donations are tax right offs through our 501c3.

Things that would help:

-Come walk them or play with them (we are just far too overworked)
-Adopt one!
-Dog food/toys/supplies
-Like/share/tag folks you think could help
-Help us get their vaccines or flea/tick meds by either sponcering one of them or calling shelters/vets to see if they will.

Hey all!

The needs have, once again, changed. At this stage there's no more search and rescue, no more elaborate helo evacuations and very few folks who are in active life or death danger. We want more than anyone to hear that the danger has passed and we can all go home, but working with these people directly, we know the need isn't over. While we are ensuring no one is hungry or cold we need help restabilizing the lives of these people who lost everything. We are placing people in permanent housing as fast as we can but our shelter population continues to grow. We can never replace the friends and family that have been taken in this awful disaster, but we can restabilize their lives so they can begin to heal. Leads on any of the following would be hugely appreciated.

-Cheap cars or transportation
-People willing to hire these people, both in the wnc area as well as Cleveland TN (Several have just decided to relocate to here).
-Usable phones
-Charities willing to help us pay phone bills or car insurance bill.
-Permanent housing or campers
-Food donations that we can use to keep folks here fed.

We are also still in need of temporary wheelchair ramps.

Major shout-out to BlueHole BBQ and their staff. They have volunteered their time and effort into not only cooking but planning meals for the Helene survivors we are housing. I cannot understate how helpful it is to have someone offer to do both.

We've had a lot of folks ask where to donate. Here's the best spot. Checks sent to our outpost will be added here and expenses will be tracked here. We are still committed to financial transparency but it will take us a minute to move all expenses over. Please be patient.
