This girl right here, Adalynn Hair. She has certainly made us proud this year. She got her state degree, a $500 scholarship and placed 4th in the State at Employment Skills, plus competed in ENR! She had a very busy few days.
For those that do not know what that employment skills contest involves, the student picks a job, creates a cover letter and resume, fills out an application and "interviews" for that job, does a follow up letter, and they have a phone call job offer negotiation. It's a lot to judge, very time consuming, but they leave with invaluable skills they will use in real life.
Adalynn has competed in this for 3 years, each year making it farther. This year she advanced to state, the first of my kids in the Womac era to do so. There is absolutely no way she would've made it this far if it weren't for people in the community so here are some people we would like to thank, and I know I've left some off so I apologize in advance!
Mrs. Colbaugh, English department, for helping with the cover letter and resume grammar, as you can see, we need the help there.
Barry Queen, Andy Burchfield, Halen Housley, Shane Williams, Cassie Brown, Angelo Giansante, Tanner Plemons, Melissa Fugate all of you gave great advice and feedback from interviews. Thank you so much!
Last, but definitely not least, Mrs. Elizabeth Pierce. You have been amazing to work with, provided great feedback, advice, and encouragement to her and myself, we appreciate you taking time out of several days to do phone calls. You're a good one!
To everyone else, thank you for supporting our girl and this program throughout the years, we absolutely could not do it without you!
Much love,
Mrs. Womac 💙💛
