🔎 CAMP BRIDGE REGISTRATION ENDS MONDAY (7-13-26)

Hey Benson area 5-8 graders (and parents)! Registration for Camp BRIDGE — a one-of-a-kind summer camp hosted by the Benson Police Department and Benson Parks and Recreation closes on Monday! There are just a few spots left — sign up today!

What does BRIDGE stand for? Building Relationships, Inspiring Dreams, Gaining Excellence!

Activities will include t-shirt tie-dying, friendship bracelet making, minute-to-win-it games with prizes, fire department demos, water balloons, an ice cream social for the family, and more! Everything starts July 21!

💴Let’s talk money!! 💴

Where does the money go?

We’re a volunteer-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit. No officer receives a paycheck. Every dollar goes back into the community.

What are we fundraising for now?

We are taking donations to host fundraisers that multiply funds. We plan to take the money we fundraise and put it into one of our missions.

What are our current missions?

1️⃣LARGER PROJECTS
Help secure matching funds for future grants to improve and expand our parks and facilities. We are our own organization, but we working alongside Benson Parks & Rec to insure our efforts allign with what is needed!

2️⃣OUTREACH
Help pay registration fees for underprivileged children in Benson so they can participate in sports.

3️⃣SPECIFIC DONATIONS
Some donors choose to designate their donation for specific items. The Booster Club can purchase those items and donate them directly to the Parks & Rec Department.

This is all about our kids. Every dollar you give helps create opportunities, build stronger programs, and ensure every child in Benson has the chance to , play, and thrive! 🏀⚽️🥎⚾️🏐🏈💙

Check out the JoCo Jeep Club on Friday!

We are on to the next one! Whatever plans you have for next Friday, CANCEL THEM, because you aren’t going to want to miss Jeeps & BBQ @ Daddy D's BBQ of Benson.

FIRST 50 JEEP CUSTOMERS will get a Duck and a Coupon to Travel Store and Gift Shop by Small World Travel & Tours . These ducks are sponsored by Small World Travel as well!

Not only will you get to look at some cool Jeeps and eat some good food, get a cool duck, but we have a few more surprises in store as well. We are being told that we will have a local media outlet on hand and we’ve also got a few more surprises that will be announced throughout the week. This is one event you’re not going to want to miss. Let’s just say you may walk away with more than just a full belly! We’ve had a total of 108 Jeeps at our last 2 events, let’s keep adding to those numbers!!! JoCo Jeep Club, Built for the Community, Driven by Adventure!

Benson Parks and Recreation 2026 Fall Sports registration for baseball, softball, soccer and volleyball is now open!

NOTE: Parks is now using TeamSnap for all sports and program registrations.

TeamSnap is web-based software that will be used as a “one-stop shop” for all things Benson Parks & Rec! You can register your child (or yourself for adult sports), check schedules, communicate with coaches, and more!

If you’re new to TeamSnap, it’s easy to make an account and get registered. If you have an existing account, registrations only require a few clicks! Parks will also be processing payments through TeamSnap so no more multiple sites and browser tabs to deal with!

🌟 DONOR SPOTLIGHT 🌟

Mrs. Margaret & Mr. Billy Coats ❤️

Today, we are proud to recognize Mrs. Margaret and Mr. Billy Coats for their generous donation to the Benson Booster Club and for the incredible impact they continue to make in their own community.

Each year during the months of October, November, and December, the Coats family hosts a Turkey Shoot on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM at Coats Farm, just a short 10 minute drive from Benson. On these nights, anyone is welcome to stop by and enjoy a home cooked meal made by Mrs. Margaret herself. Her famous chicken pastry, vegetable soup, spaghetti. You just never know what she might have out to serve but you’re guaranteed to leave with a full belly and ready to come back for more.

While many people come out for a fun evening with friends and family, the event is about so much more than that. This Turkey Shoot is a charity event, with 100% of the proceeds being used to keep the event running and to help those in need throughout the community.

Over the past 35 years, funds from the Turkey Shoot have helped elderly residents with light and water bills, provided groceries for families facing difficult times, and supported their local police department. It is a true example of neighbors helping neighbors and a reminder of what can happen when a community comes together for a greater purpose.

When the Turkey Shoot season ends, their hard work doesn’t stop. During the summer months, you can find Mrs. Margaret and Mr. Billy at their home, Coats Farm, offering fresh-picked blueberries, squash, zucchini, and other homegrown vegetables.

Mrs. Margaret says it best:

❤️ “It’s all about helping people. That’s what we’re here to do. Be a community and love one another the way God loves us.”

We would also like to recognize and thank Mr. Billy for his incredible service to our country. Mr. Billy proudly served 30 years in the United States military—8 years in the Air Force, 2 years in the Army, and 20 years in the Navy. Thank you, Mr. Billy, for your dedication, sacrifice, and service to our nation. Because of men and women like you, we enjoy the freedoms we often take for granted.

Thank you again, Mrs. Margaret and Mr. Billy, for your donation to the Benson Booster Club and for the countless ways you continue to serve others. Your generosity, kindness, and commitment to helping your neighbors make each community a better place.

It truly takes a village, and we are so thankful for people like you who continue to pour love, support, and service into the community we call home. ❤️
