Forrest Deaner Native Plant Botanic Garden (Benicia Botanic Garden) Forrest Deaner Native Plant Botanic Garden is located in the Benicia State Recreation Area, off 780 in Solano County, California. It is free to the public.

The Forrest Deaner Native Plant Botanic Garden was established in 2000 by the Willis Linn Jepson Chapter of the California Native Plant Society to serve as a showcase for plants native to the California. It was opened to be public in 2004. It is currently managed by the Benicia State Parks Association. The State Parks charge a parking fee ($6) if you drive into the park. There are water faucets, r

estrooms and picnic tables nearby. The Garden is 100% managed and maintained by volunteers. Volunteer days are Tuesdays and Saturdays (except holidays) from 9:30am to 11:30am. We welcome all volunteers; we have activities for any gardening ability. If interested, please contact State Parks Volunteer Coordinator at (707)745-3385.
