The "cost" of low tuition shouldn't be the livelihood of our teachers. 🎓📉
Recent data shows a massive gap in how COCC prioritizes its people:
âś… 2024: 16% market adjustment for administration.
❌ 2026: An insulting $30 annual increase for senior faculty—paired with actual wage cuts for some.
This is more than just a contract dispute; it’s a crisis affecting the entire campus:
🚀 Talent Drain: Experienced faculty are leaving for sustainable wages elsewhere.
đźš« Hiring Crisis: Repeated failed searches for new hires are leaving our departments short-staffed.
🎓 Student Impact: This directly limits program availability, reduces course offerings, and stalls the innovation our students need to compete in today’s economy.
Keeping tuition low at the expense of fair faculty wages isn't an achievement—it’s a failing business strategy that leaves value and opportunity "on the table."
We are calling on the COCC Board and Administration to invest in the experts who make our college thrive. Faculty, students, and community members—we need your help to demand better. 🗣️
