Abundant Table Kitchen is an independent, interfaith, and secular nonprofit soup kitchen founded in 2025 by Cheryl and Stephen Wellman. We are a 501(c)(3) charitable organization created to serve those in our community who experience food insecurity through food, dignity, and compassion.
Our goal is to provide access to healthy meals and foster community support by serving as a safe, welcoming space for individuals facing hardship. We also aim to encourage volunteer opportunities, promote community engagement, and facilitate collaboration among local organizations, all contributing to long-term community resilience and well-being.
Our Mission
“To nourish our community by providing warm meals, dignity, and compassion to anyone in need. We believe that every person deserves kindness, a place at the table, and hope for tomorrow.”
We are not affiliated with, governed by, or operated as a ministry of any single church or denomination. We are a standalone nonprofit organization, supported by volunteers, donors, and community partners from all backgrounds.
We have received some financial assistance through personal donations and are partnered with Little Caesars Pizza and Pizza and Then Some, who support us through their generous contributions of food.
We are grateful to Belton Church of God for generously allowing us to operate out of their facilities, where we prepare and serve meals and receive volunteer support. While we operate within their building, Abundant Table Kitchen remains fully independent in mission, leadership, and operations.
We also receive meaningful volunteer support and encouragement from members of Belton Presbyterian Church, whose generosity helps strengthen our efforts in the community.
We are actively reaching out to local churches, civic groups, and businesses for additional support and volunteers.
