Adventures Unplugged

Adventures Unplugged Adventures Unplugged wants to use the outdoors to help people unplug from their daily routine. Have you ever been a part of an outdoor adventure?

Have you been in BoyScouts, YoungLife or just been camping with family or friends. Did it change the way you perceive the world? Did it change the way you see yourself? Did you experience new things or find out you can accomplish things you didn’t think you could do? All youth need to have these outdoor experiences for personal growth and development. There is a huge segment of the population that

will never get to have these experiences because of the lack of knowledge about the benefits and lack of access to programs. Adventures Unplugged wants to change this trend, we want to bring the adventures to the people who need it. There is a growing need for youth to experience the outdoors. The average American teen spends an average of 7.5 minutes playing outdoors a day. The youth who need the benefits of being outdoors the most are the group with the least knowledge of the different outdoor opportunities. How do we reach those youth? How do we make them aware of outdoor non-profits if they are not actively looking for an outdoor adventure? Adventures Unplugged would be unique because we would bring the adventure to their area, we would provide needed equipment and scout out a location for the trip. We would provide the bridge between the kids who need access and would benefit from it the most and the non-profits they would receive a huge benefit from attending. More details to come as we continue to finalize the details of our youth program.

Our Story

Rachelle and Zeb both have a love for the outdoors and want to use it as a medium to help everyone find themselves in nature with Christ. They have been married for 6 years and have one daughter named Delanie and one son named Kael. They served in Northern Thailand from 2015-2017. Aiding the people and local non-profits. Their focus was helping with the operations of running a boarding house in a small village to 2 hours from Chiang Mai, Thailand. The children stayed at this home Monday-Friday and then returned to their home village Friday evenings. The reason the children came to another village for school was because their village had no school.

While living in Thailand Rachelle and Zeb realized that God was calling them in a different direction. Which at first was very scary because they had never done what God was asking them to do. We started helping with organizing hygiene clinics, helping lead women's leadership conferences and hosting mission groups from America. Rachelle and Zeb returned to America in December 2017 so that they could start their own ministry that God had put on their hearts. When they first moved back they focused just on domestic outreach but it became apparent very quickly that God did not want them to close the international door to doing ministry. They now have international trips that go to Thailand every year working with the hill tribe people that they now call family. Both Zeb and Rachelle have 5 plus years working within the outdoor industry. They both co-led local hikes in Overland Park, KS for 2 years. Their love for the outdoors is great and we know they have some great things ahead of them!
