We wanted to say a special thank you to everyone who came to the square yesterday (in the rain!) for the Jean Martin rememberence/dedication ceremony. Jill Carpenter and Alan Sims gave touching speeches and were followed by Alda Hughes Smith performing a beautiful song on the guitar. Jean was a beloved member of our committee and our community. Her passing leaves us devastated, but we are all blessed to have had her in our lives. We will forever miss you Queen of Belton!

Dear Belton,

We just wanted to say thank you so much for for the wonderful responses and appreciation you have shown us! While the pandemic has kept us physically apart, the beautification committee has soldiered on (while maintaining proper distancing of course)! We rotate work duties and have divided the downtown beds amongst members for individual attention. If anyone/business are interested in sponsoring a garden, we are now taking applications and can be reached via Facebook message or phone! We would also like to publicly thank Don Elgin for the donation of 12 beautiful gardenias and city councilwoman Linda McCoy for the lovely card (it made our day)! Until we get to see you all again stay strong, stay safe, plant a garden, and happy Father’s Day!

Fresh plant delivery! For anyone that is interested in helping out, we will be having work days in the square Friday and Saturday afternoons (if the rain stays away)! Tomorrow we will be starting with a meeting at The “Kutz on the Square Venue” in building 302 on North Main Street at 10 am! After that stick around and help us beautify Belton!

Another day in the books and plants in the ground! Last Saturday our volunteers relocated several of the shrubs in the downtown square and trimmed back the overgrown roses bushes! Thanks to Jill, Lois, Francis, Jean, Larry, Mark, and Eric for putting in the work and helping to beautify Belton!
