When I was first going vegan on my husband’s cattle ranch and for years afterwards, I kept watching the undercover footage of how animals are being treated in our food system - it ripped me apart but I kept watching as penance and to de-program the massive load of brainwashing I received as a young person growing up in Texas.
I can’t watch any more of it. That truth is so ingrained deep in my bones, it is a fundamental part of me. I will never eat another being EVER. I will never pay for their torture and murder. I just want to love them, save them and heal them now.
The people who need to be watching this footage are the very folks who WILL NOT do it. They don’t want to know. They want to keep doing what they’re doing. But slaughterhouse footage should be required from kindergarten on up. I mean, why not? Before you come at me - why would you feed children the dismembered body parts of an animal but not show them how it happened? You are just feeding them hypocrisy - indoctrinating them into the CULT of sa**sm that is rotting our society.
So, if you’re a flesh-eater… have you watched the footage? And, if a live cow swinging upside down by her ankle being skinned alive doesn’t affect you, something’s not right with your soul.
I went vegan on a cattle ranch in Texas - what’s your excuse?
