Governor Inslee, I am again asking that you Breach the Lower Four Snake River Dams beginning immediately.

The time for us as a people to make a change and pledge our commitment to saving our seas is now.It is time for our generation to look our leaders in the eye and ask what legacy will you leave behind for us?

Governor Inslee, What will your legacy be? Will it be a legacy of crippling debt? Will it be a legacy of mass extinction and barren waters? Or will it be a legacy of hope and prosperity? Will you be the ones to break the cycle and be the ones who stood for what is right?

Mr Governor, I implore you to do what is right and your grandchildren will be able to say on this day, my Grandfather stood for what is just and what is right.Today, I am young and life is long, and my purpose is clear. The days of killing our rivers, streams, fish and precious Southern Resident Killer Whales are numbered and I will not come alone.Today I pledge to fight for the Orca and I hope that you stand with folks like Myself, who have been fighting for these Orca for years.Mr. Governor, I hope that I can count on your support in the fight to come.

To the members of the Orca Task Force, I am asking you to make the removal of the Lower 4 Snake river dams your Number 1 recommendation
The entire world is watching. Do the right thing.

THE TIME TO ACT IS NOW.

With the extinction of the Southern Resident Killer Whales staring us in the face we are at a crossroads where need need to choose between our own greed and wiping these whales off of the face of planet Earth forever or making a change and saving them from extinction.

After nine days of waiting, we finally got out to the New Zealand orca. The call came early evening, that orca were entering into the Whangarei Harbour. Although we would arrive on site just on dark, we decided it would be worth trying to see if we could find them. The ride into town seemed to take forever and we seemed to find every slow car on their way home after work. We were very lucky that folks living along the harbour beaches called us with progress of the orca so we could go directly to the area where they were last seen. By then it was already dark. We had to stop the boat and listen to see if we could find them. At the second stop after only a few moments, they surfaced heading towards us. We could tell, from the sound of the blows that there was one adult male, one juvenile and one other orca. As they passed by us, we could see them silhouetted against the lights of the houses and the glow of the city and we could identify Funky Monkey and Pickle as well as their presumed mother. We stayed with them for over an hour as they continued further into the harbour and the began to hunt in shallow water. Unfortunately, before the moon came up we lost them and despite searching for another hour we didn’t find them. If you happen to see orca, please call us on 0800 SEE ORCA (733 6722) as we won’t be monitoring facebook today. Thank you! (Posted by London Fletcher, assistant research trainee – age 10 years old).
