We know it’s last minute… but we have additional space to invite community members. 🙌🏼

We'd like to invite you to join our Thomas More community for a special evening event featuring Ayman Soliman — a Cairo, Egypt native whose story has captured the attention of Cincinnati and beyond.

In the summer of 2025, Soliman was arrested during a routine check-in at an ICE office and held for 73 days, spending 19 hours a day in his cell with no access to sunlight. His case sparked community vigils, protests, and a lengthy legal battle that ended when the U.S. Department of Homeland Security dropped the charges and released him. Since then, the U.S. government has reinstated his asylum and he is in the process of obtaining a green card.

Soliman is sharing his experience with us firsthand, and we want to extend an opportunity for you to hear from him.

Please join us:
• 📍 Thomas More University — Science Lecture Hall
• 📅 Tomorrow, Monday, March 23, 2026
• 🕓 4:30 – 6:00 PM
• 🍽️ Light refreshments will be provided

To attend, please RSVP using the link below:

We hope to see you there.

Spent the morning with these NISE humans at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center 🤎

There’s something powerful about being in a space that tells the truth, past and present, while asking us what we’re willing to do now. Deep conversations. Real reflection. A whole lot of gratitude for community that shows up ready to learn, unlearn, and act.

Black history. American history. Human history. ✊🏾✨

🌱 Introducing Our Land Protection Series 🌱

At NISE, we believe that education becomes most powerful when it is rooted in lived experience, curiosity, and a commitment to justice. This new social media series on land protection is created and led by NISE students who are passionate about environmental justice, sustainability, and the deep connections between land, people, culture, and community.

Throughout this series, students will share why land protection matters to them, what they are learning, and how environmental issues intersect with equity, history, health, and access. From preserving natural spaces to advocating for responsible development and honoring Indigenous stewardship, these conversations reflect the values our students carry into the world.

This series is more than information—it’s an invitation to reflect, learn, and take action alongside young leaders who are using their voices to build a more just and sustainable future. 🌎

Part 3 of our education social justice series.

Postsecondary education includes trades education. Strong education in trade implementation encourages upward mobility and advancement for all. Ask your legislators to fund ALL education opportunities equally to help us all become more educated and move us forward.
