Who will we see this week in Chattanooga for International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) ?! We’ve got board members, jambassadors, pickers, educators and community organizers coming in from across the country to rep BGP!

Camp Bluegrass Pride in Astoria was such a wonderful experience. This is what camper Lyndall has to say about the experience "1) Witnessing & enjoying the instructors share their experiences & musicality in a q***r-centric space; 2) lessons!. Learned more at this camp than any other I've attended because I felt safer, included, & seen."

Camp Bluegrass Pride was so magical. Here is what one of the campers had to say about the experience "My favorite part of camp was having a space to be around people who just get it. It felt like spending a week speaking a language that I rarely get to use in my day-to-day life, but that everyone at camp spoke fluently. It was a place to be unabashedly myself and trust that I would be received well with no reservation or critique." Let's hear from another camper. Paul says "My favorite part of camp was (1) the extremely tight feeling of community that I hadn’t experienced before at a camp, and (2) the impact made on me of which I had not previously realized regarding the challenges the q***r community members can experience and feel when participating in the general Bluegrass community... I never felt more welcomed than I did by everyone at any bluegrass camp in the past. So I felt safe, which is important for an introverted musician with extreme anxiety issues." 🔥🎶🔥🎶

Let's hear from another camper. Kiera says "I loved how intimate the experience was. How close we, as campers, got but also that the instructors were so accessible. My favorite part was playing music together late into the night, seeing how the newer musicians gained confidence and began to join in. I have never been in jam settings that felt so open and affirming and I think a lot of it is because we are all q***r and it felt so safe."

Here is what another camper had to say about his experience at Camp BGP. Vincent reports that his favorite things about camp were "Mandolin class with CJ and nightly jams at the Xanadu where instructors participated. 🔥I really liked the energy that Cody🎻 and his students 🎻brought to the jam. Playing tunes at tempo really pushed me to play at a higher level.🔥 As one of the few straight people in the camp I really gained an appreciation for how special this event was for the q***r community."
