FREE TREES for your yard (or your school, faith community, or small business)!

300 Trees is offering Bellevue residents up to three free trees per address. With a dozen varieties to choose from, hopefully one will be perfect for your location.

ORDER YOUR TREES TODAY at https://300trees.org

We hope to give away 1,000 trees on March 3-4 at Aldersgate United Methodist Church in South Bellevue. A thousand trees might sound like a lot, but don't delay. Our giveaway events have been popular and quantities of some trees are limited. The deadline for ordering is February 23.

We are also accepting volunteers (we enjoy working with kids) and tax-deductible donations to support the program. Find out more at https://300trees.org.

Many people find out about our programs by word-of-mouth, so please let your neighbors know about this great opportunity!

Fall tree planting opportunity! The non-profit 300 Trees seeks a dozen additional volunteers to help us plant a few dozen trees on the Sammamish High School campus this Saturday, Nov. 12, from 9am - 3pm (probably shorter).

Last fall, we planted 300 native trees on the campus, but some did not survive the wet winter and very dry summer. We have learned some things and hope to have better success with our second planting.

Do you love trees? Do you enjoy working together with your neighbors and friends to keep Bellevue beautiful and green?

If so, I’m happy to tell you about three consecutive days of tree events happening this weekend!

The City of Bellevue is holding its annual free tree giveaway this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. One THOUSAND trees will be distributed to Bellevue residents, businesses, and community organizations. Volunteers will help load trees into cars, distribute mulch and water bags, and enjoy some well-earned snacks. Kids aged 14 and over are welcome to help (we enjoy their youthful energy!)

You can get further details and sign up for one or more shifts at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0F4EAAAA22A2FAC61-city1

For people who like putting their hands in the dirt, the Bellevue Parks Departments will hold a tree planting event Saturday morning at Bannerwood Park (located on Richards Road near the Lake Hills Connector). We have found planting events especially inspiring for high school students and younger kids (accompanied by an adult). The kids will feel pride as their efforts grow into a new forest in coming years.

Sign up to plant trees (and some smaller plants) at https://bellevuewa.gov/city-government/departments/parks/nature-and-environment/visitor-centers-environmental-programs/environmental-stewardship-volunteer-opportunities/stewardship-saturdays

I hope to see you and your friends at both of these wonderful events!

(This message is brought to you by 300 Trees, a non-profit working with the City to promote tree planning and tree giveaways for the past couple of years.)
