Today, we remember the therapy animals who changed lives through every visit, every quiet moment, and every connection they helped create.

Their impact continues in the lessons they left with us.

They taught us to be patient. To pay attention. To lead with kindness. To find joy in small moments. To show up for others.

On Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day, we invite you to honor a beloved animal by sharing one lesson that animal taught you.

National Dog Day tastes even better when it gives back!

From August 24-27, our friends at Lazy Dog Restaurants are celebrating dogs while supporting Pet Partners. For every Dog Bowl ordered in-restaurant during the celebration, Lazy Dog will donate $1 to Pet Partners.

Your pup gets a tasty meal, and your visit helps support Pet Partners therapy animal teams bringing comfort and connection to people in hospitals, schools, older adult communities, and other settings.

Plus, guests who order a Dog Bowl will receive a card for a free Dog Bowl on a future visit with the purchase of an entrée.

Planning to celebrate on National Dog Day, August 26? The first 50 dogs on the patio at each participating Lazy Dog location will also receive a free dog bandana, while supplies last. 🐾

The lessons you learn before your first visit can stay with you for every visit that follows.

The Pet Partners Handler Course prepares you for the human side of being a therapy animal team. You’ll learn how to advocate for your animal, support safe interactions, communicate with the people you visit, and handle new situations with confidence.

These skills help you protect your animal’s well-being while creating positive experiences for everyone you meet.

Two Pet Partners teams are in the spotlight!

Brooklyn and Maverick are semifinalists in the Therapy Dog category of the 2026 American Humane Hero Dog Awards®.

Both therapy dogs are registered with Pet Partners, and their stories show the meaningful connections that can grow through the human-animal bond. As part of their teams, Brooklyn and Maverick work alongside their handlers to bring comfort, connection, and support to the people they visit.

Get to know Maverick and Brooklyn, read their stories, and cast your vote in the Therapy Dog category. You can vote once every 24 hours through September 18.

Today, we’re celebrating the amazing ways blind dogs experience the world.

August 23 is International Blind Dog Day, a day to celebrate blind and visually impaired dogs and all they can do.

Blind dogs can play, explore, learn new routines, and form deep bonds with the people they trust. They often navigate the world through smell, sound, touch, and support from their person.

At Pet Partners, a physical disability does not automatically prevent an animal from becoming a therapy animal. What matters is that the animal is healthy, enjoys meeting people, feels comfortable during visits, and can safely work together with their handler.

Today, we’re celebrating blind dogs and the people who help them thrive.

Do you know a blind or visually impaired dog? Tell us about that special dog in the comments. 💙

Look who’s taking the next big step as a team!

Join us in celebrating these volunteers and animals who recently completed their Pet Partners team evaluations.

During an evaluation, both members of the team have an important role. Volunteers show how they support and advocate for their animals, while animals show that they are comfortable, engaged, and responsive to their volunteers.

That strong partnership helps prepare teams for safe, positive therapy animal visits and meaningful connections in their communities. 💙

Give these teams a round of applause in the comments! 👏

What does it look like when a therapy animal team is truly prepared to volunteer?

For one Pet Partners team, it looks like bringing smiles, building trust, and being a reliable partner for the facility they visit.

One staffer at LifeStream Behavioral Center shared:
"They are doing a great job here at LifeStream. Our consumers, young and old, enjoy them both. They bring smiles ... and make their stay a little more comfortable.”

That kind of feedback reflects the preparation Pet Partners volunteer receive before they begin visiting. Volunteer complete education, prepare with their animal, and take part in a team evaluation designed to help them feel ready for real-world visits.
