Meet our coaches for the season!
Coach Erik DeAngelis
I grew up in New Hampshire, where I competed in sports from the time I could walk. My athletic background includes soccer, wrestling, gymnastics, lacrosse, swimming, and motocross. I played competitive travel soccer from ages 10 through 17 with the same club, where I learned the value of commitment, teamwork, and long-term player development. I was also nationally ranked in wrestling, training alongside some of the best athletes in the country—an experience that instilled discipline, mental toughness, and a relentless work ethic.
My passion for coaching began at an early age. I started coaching youth wrestling while I was still in middle school and continued throughout high school. During that time, I also helped establish a youth recreational lacrosse program in my hometown, gaining valuable experience developing young athletes and building successful youth programs.
After high school, my focus shifted to motocross, which eventually brought me to Florida. I later became a deputy sheriff, where leadership, accountability, communication, and service to others became the foundation of my professional career.
A few years ago, I was asked to coach at Belleview Soccer Club, and it quickly reminded me how much I enjoy mentoring young athletes. Coaching has given me the opportunity to combine my lifelong experience in competitive sports with my passion for developing the next generation.
My coaching philosophy centers on developing complete athletes. While technical ability, tactical understanding, and physical development are essential, I believe character, discipline, resilience, accountability, and teamwork are what truly separate successful players. My goal is to challenge every athlete to reach their full potential while creating a positive, competitive environment where players learn to compete with confidence, support one another, and represent their club with pride.
Success isn’t measured only by wins and losses—it’s measured by the growth each player makes both on and off the field. My hope is that every athlete leaves the program not only as a better soccer player, but as a stronger, more confident person who understands the value of hard work, integrity, and being a great teammate.
