2026 Virtual Parent Café Series
DIVE INTO SUMMER! Parent Cafés are guided group meetings where parents come together to talk, share, and support each other. Parents learn ways to keep their families strong. These cafés are for Pennsylvania families in Early Intervention or Home Visiting programs.

Don’t forget the children’s safety fair tomorrow —

🥳 The Annual Patton Township Children's Safety Fair is 3 WEEKENDS AWAY!

This year our fair will be held on Saturday, May 16th from 10 AM to 3 PM at the Colonnade (Target Parking Lot).

🎓 C2P2 EI Graduate – Class of 2026 👩‍🎓💜

On May 9th, I officially completed the Competence and Confidence Partners in Policymaking Early Intervention (C2P2 EI) program through Parent to Parent of Pennsylvania under OCDEL. The past 10 months have been an incredible journey. 🎉

This program was intense, challenging, emotional, and deeply rewarding. It involved traveling to multiple in-person sessions in Lancaster, PA, completing extensive Zoom sessions, and spending many hours away from my family. Despite the demands, every moment was worth it.

Throughout the program, we explored topics such as Early Intervention service delivery, government and policy development, disability history and pride, the ADA, advocacy, IEP/504 planning, and transition planning.

Beyond the coursework, I began attending Parent Cafés and participating in LICC and SICC meetings. I also wrote letters to legislators and found my voice in IEP meetings. This experience helped me realize that if I want meaningful change for my child and for families like ours, I need to be part of creating that change.

As my next step, I am stepping outside my comfort zone to become a resource for other parents navigating similar journeys. Please feel free to reach out if you have questions or would like to connect.

Concerned about your child's development?

Centre County Early Intervention (EI) provides services to children ages birth to 3 years old who exhibit a developmental delay of 25% or greater (-1.5 standard deviations), a medical or mental health diagnosis, or the need for informed clinical opinion. Qualifying children may be eligible to receive physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, hearing therapy, vision therapy, and special instruction. In addition, each child is provided with a Service Coordinator who can be a resource and support for the child and family. All services are provided in families’ homes or the community, are voluntary and provided at no cost regardless of family income. If you have any concerns about your child’s development, call today to discuss a developmental evaluation.
