The Belle Plaine Activities Committee wants to thank everyone who joined us for our Pi Day Frito Chili Pie Feed and Pie Baking Contest. The competition was tough this year! Every single pie was delicious, but big congratulations go out to our top three bakers:

1st Place: Kendra Stewart (Dutch Apple)
2nd Place: Chrissy Torres (Peanut Butter)
3rd Place: Kelly Hisken (Peanut Butter with Meringue)

We also want to give a huge "thank you" to our amazing committee members. From the chili in the kitchen to the handmade prizes and decorations, this fundraiser wouldn't have been possible without your hard work!

The Belle Plaine Activities Committee (BPAC) met on January 20th to map out a year full of community fun. From "flagship" favorites to tasty new fundraisers, here is what’s coming your way in 2026:

Spring Kick-Off
* Pi Day Fundraiser (March 14): We’re starting the year with a "Pi Day" celebration! Join us for a Frito Chili Pie feed, a pie-tasting contest, and a slice sale. Start perfecting those recipes—entry info is coming soon!
* Downtown Festival (April 10–11): Stop by our informational booth to see what we're up to. We will also be selling tickets for our Logan Street Fine Woods Tree Table fundraiser.

Summer Fun
* Independence Day (July 4): Our annual celebration is back! We are currently looking for local organizations to partner with us to make this the best 4th of July yet.
* National Night Out (August): After a great time in 2025, we hope to join the BPPD again for this community-building event.
* Dive-In Movie (TBD): We’re working on a "sequel" to last year’s successful summer movie night.

Fall Festivities
* Merchant Street Monster Mash (October): Our flagship Trunk-or-Treat event will return to haunt Merchant Street once again!

Want to help bring these events to life? We’d love to have your input and energy.

The Belle Plaine Activities Committee extends a huge thank you to everyone who braved the chilly, misty weather for our event!

We especially appreciate all the participants who set up trunks and handed out candy—it truly wouldn't have been a trunk-or-treat without you! A big thanks also goes to the student organizations, the library, and the museum for providing fun, family-friendly activities.

We are grateful to the City of Belle Plaine for allowing us to shut down the streets for several hours and for being an essential point of contact.

Thank you to Chief Bill Berry for serving as our MC and calling the costume contests, and to Jeff Cox for providing the sound.

A final, special thank you to the volunteers who organized the 2nd Annual Merchant Street Monster Mash. Follow our page to see what we have planned for 2026!

Here's the haunted lineup:

Trunks line up on Merchant (from 4th to 5th) to hand out mountains of candy!

Grab a temporary tattoo and a delicious caramel apple at the old city jail (4th and Merchant).

Don't forget to wear your best! Costume and Trunk awards will be announced at 5th and Merchant.

Get your fill with a walking taco fundraiser by the School Band and Vocal students, and stay hydrated with free water bottles from Valley State Bank.

Spin the wheel of fortune and enjoy games at the Library.

Enjoy face painting, a Photo Booth, a cake walk, the StuCo's infamous haunted school bus, a pie in the face contest, and a carved pumpkin contest! Plus, tons of games on the Community Center lawn.
