Hey friends! We received a good ruling today! Here is the gist of it:

-no crushers, conveyors, loading areas, or stockpiles can be within 1,200 feet of Plaintiff property

-no artificial light is allowed to shine to your properties

-from 8 pm to 6 am, there can not be any “pecking noises” from jackhammers, breakers, or other equipment

-the quarry cannot block or stop traffic on the road

Basically, this forces the Quarry to move their entire operation.

If the quarry does any of these things, please let me know and take photos/videos. They would now be in contempt of court.

The suit, brought by Keith Sharp and his companies, claimed the churches' efforts to stop the quarry caused financial harm. He sought $1.6 million in damages, plus attorney's fees.

A few days ago, we sent notice to the quarry operators that they have 60 days to either cease operations or apply with the department of the interior for a take permit to harm the endangered species in the limestone creek. We may have lost one battle, but there are plenty more to fight.

Let’s celebrate! We have placed the Quarry under restraining order until our permanent injunction can be decided in court November 21st at 9 a.m. at the Limestone county court house.

The real truth is that anyone could do what I’m doing in Belle Mina. I’m the most replaceable one in the whole bunch! It’s the people I have standing next to me that have done this.

ADEM says the pause is due to EPA intervention, but residents against the quarry say the issue goes deeper.

We are here for the ADEM hearing at Calhoun Community College in the Health and Sciences Building #2, Rm #109, which will determine whether or not a quarry will go in the town of Belle Mina. If this quarry goes in, the people that worship here and our neighbors will be in danger!
