And that’s a wrap for the 2026 Belington Youth Basketball and Cheer season!

Thank you all so much for the support this year. We had over 170 sign-ups, were able to sponsor many players, and welcomed several visiting teams throughout the season.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this possible:
Donnie Metheney (Basketball Coordinator), Katrina and Timmy Sparks, Connie Stewart, Haley Shelton, Lana Fowler, Cindy Hart, and Dave Simmons.

Special thanks to our city clerks—Gwen Valentine, Connie Stewart, and Stephanie Davis for everything they do behind the scenes.

And of course, thank you to all of our coaches and referees. We couldn’t do this without you.

And to anyone we may have missed—we appreciate you just as much. This truly takes a village.

We appreciate this community more than you know!! See you all on the court again next year! 🏀💙

❗️END OF SEASON CELEBRATION RESCHEDULED ❗️

The end of season celebrations scheduled for today have been canceled due to unforeseen circumstances.

They will now be held tomorrow, Monday, March 23 from 6:00–7:30 PM for ages 5–6, 7–8, 9–10, and 11–13.

We’ve had a great week of games and these teams battled hard to earn their spots. Thank you to all the players, coaches, referees and families who helped make this season possible.

Join us Saturday, March 14 at the Belington Civic Center for our Championship Games:

10:00 — Black vs Purple (5–6)
11:00 — Blue vs Red (7–8)
12:00 — Green vs Red (9–10)
1:00 — Purple vs Red (11–13)
2:00 — Green vs Purple (14–17)

Spring basketball opportunity in Barbour County… this is not at the civic center but great opportunity for players to get some more court time in.

Sing ups are now on for spring basketball teams (please read the whole post):

7-8 grade boys
7-8 grade girls
9-10 grade boys
9-11 grade girls

(If there is enough interest, we will be adding 5-6 grade girls and boys team)

All practices will be held in Barbour County.

Parent meeting will be on Sunday, February 22 - time and place to be announced by this Wednesday.

WV Elite Basketball Academy is a unique spring basketball team, where we put full emphasis on individual and team skills development, with two practices per week, and tournaments once a month.

We also understand that players may be participating in school related activities and sports, as well as other club/travel sports during spring and summer, and we create practice and tournament schedule around other activities to make it easier on players and the families.

Primary goal is to improve players' basketball skill levels, but each and every practice and game is used also to develop children's soft life skills: accountability, discipline, team work, reliability, work ethic, and respectful behavior and sportsmanship.

With over 20 years of experience in youth coaching, our staff is fully committed to help your child get better at basketball, while also providing support and increasing their confidence levels.
