Join us as we fight for all students' Freedom to Read. We won't allow this Board to break the law by voting in secret to override the decision of trained experts who evaluate books and determine they are appropriate for school libraries. We must fight back, demand the book's reinstatement, and protect other literature from this Board's political ideology and anti-LGBTQ stance. We'll meet outside the Board of Ed building at 5:30 pm on August 18th. Tell us you're joining the fight. https://forms.gle/89WLiYy88MNKBqoG6

HCPS already cut 168 positions before submitting their budget for the 2025-2026 school year. These cuts will impact class size, student achievement, and programing for students. Tell Bob Cassilly to fully fund the requested HCPS budget. Our kids cannot afford any more cuts to their education.

Inflation has made everything cost more. It costs more to feed your family, heat your home over the winter, and to own or rent a home.

Imagine how much more it costs to feed 37,902 students daily, heat and cool 55 schools and 1,142 classrooms, and fill the gas tanks of 500 school buses that travel roughly 42,000 miles PER DAY.

The school system is running on LESS money than it did in 2023. Inflation also impacts the school system's budget. Schools cannot do more, or even the same, with less.

The funding crisis for Harford County Public Schools did not happen overnight. Underfunding education has been a systemic problem. Imagine what services that $234.49 million could provide for students: smaller class sizes, additional services for our special ed students and English Language Learners. Our children and our community deserves better.
