Mom's Day In The Park will be held this weekend on Saturday May 9, 2026. from 10 am until 4:30 pm at Falling Creek Park. We would like to share the list of vendors that will be with us for the day and note the Food Vendors we will have onsite:

Porter House Grilling
Grandpa Ike's Mini Donuts
LaShunca Mexican Food
Star City Sips - Lemonade, Hot Dogs and Popcorn

Join us this Saturday for a fun day in the park. This event is organized in partnership with the Bedford Parks & Rec. This is a free event where you can do some Mother's Day shopping from local craft vendors & artisans, enjoy some live music, food, drinks, activities, demonstrations, and more. As a part of our upcoming event Mom's Day In The Park, we would like to bring to your attention a special fundraiser to help families in our community.

Many of you have heard of the New London Cannery, Bedford Community Health Foundation, Hunters for the Hungry and Bedford County Extension Service.

In partnership with these great organizations, we would like to collect donations to help purchase food cans for the Venison Chili Project. The Extension Service and New London Cannery coordinate the process to produce the chili using venison donated to Hunters for the Hungry. Bedford Community Health purchases the cans for processing. Processing takes place at the New London Cannery with the help of volunteers. The end result is Venison Chili that is sent to our local food banks to help families in need.

A booth will be set up at our event so you can learn more about what each organization brings to the table.

Please join us at Mom's Day In The Park on Saturday May 9, 2026, at Falling Creek Park in Bedford VA to learn more. We also offer an online app to donate if you like. Just scan the QR code on the flyer. It will take you to Zeffy, an no transaction fee app available to nonprofit organizations like GFWC Bedford Woman's Club.

All donations received at the park and via Zeffy will be given to Bedford Community Health specifically to purchase the cans needed for processing the chili.
