Again , congratulations to Warren Pena for City Council Port Arthur.
Its important to report factual information, and not erase or deflect from any history of Port Arthur.
12NewsNow recently made a hiccup in reporting, to make it clear, here is a video of former Mayor Oscar Ortiz, after he had served as a city councilman before bid to run for mayor.
FROM stepping off council for a few years, unemployment had risen, deals made thru abatements with Motiva had fallen thru, such as hiring local for the jobs. And the mayor at the time and council, didn't hold Motiva accountable to those agreements.

In closing, Oscar Ortiz was a trail blazer in port arthur for the hispanic community, and his legacy should not be dismissed or go unreported and unrecognized, as the first being a first Hispanic councilman and the first hispanic mayor or Port Arthur. Please share this widely to ensure thst Mayor Oscar Ortiz is not removed from city records as 12news seemed to lead many to not know about him and his elected positions held. While others were correcting them for over the last 24 hours, with no response from 12 news or the reporter, to correct thier mistake in thier reporting.
