🍦💕 Life is sweeter when we're together!

We had SO much fun at our Ice Cream Social with our Loula Foundation participants and peer support group! 🍨💜

There was plenty of ice cream, laughter, and good company! Sometimes it's the simplest things that bring people together and create the best memories.

💜 Did you know? Loula Foundation hosts a FREE recovery event every month for our participants! These events give individuals and families an opportunity to have sober fun, build friendships, connect with their community, and enjoy life in recovery!

We believe recovery is about more than staying sober. It's about building a life you enjoy, finding people who support you, and knowing you belong somewhere.

Not every victim of domestic violence survives long enough to tell their story.

Leaving isn't always safe. Staying isn't always safe. And surviving should never depend on making the perfect decision.

Domestic violence is not just a relationship problem. It is a matter of life and death.

😂❤️ **HAPPY BOSS’S DAY TO OUR FAVORITE FORCE OF NATURE!** ❤️😂

How do you even begin to celebrate someone who does the work of about 47 people, carries the weight of a thousand responsibilities, keeps our mission moving, and STILL finds time to prank us? 😂 Seriously, we're convinced she has a secret clone somewhere because HOW?!

But behind the jokes, the laughter, and the occasional moment when we're wondering what she's going to pull next, there's a woman with a heart bigger than her to-do list. She is fun, fierce, beautiful, compassionate, tenacious, loyal, devoted, and relentlessly motivated. She leads with heart, shows up when it matters, lifts others when they need it, and gives so much of herself to the people and mission she believes in.

She isn't just our executive director. She's our backbone, our cheerleader, our problem-solver, our prankster-in-chief, and such a huge part of what makes Loula Foundation what it is. We genuinely don't know how she manages everything on her plate, but we are endlessly grateful that she does.

**Today, we celebrate the boss, the leader, the prankster, and the incredible human being behind it all.** We hope you know how loved, appreciated, and admired you are. You make a difference in more ways than you probably realize, and we are so lucky to be on this journey with you. ❤️

Leadership isn't always easy, but having women beside you who believe in the same mission makes all the difference.

I'm grateful for Cindy Faulk Perez and Wendi Faulk Martinez, for the vision that started Loula Foundation, and for the opportunity to help lead something that means so much to all of us.

We've grown, we've learned, we've faced challenges, and we've accomplished things we once only talked about.

Here's to strong women, shared leadership, and continuing to build something we're all proud of.

🎉 LOULA FOUNDATION IS OFFICIALLY THE FIRST AND ONLY CERTIFIED TRAUMA-INFORMED CARE AGENCY IN SOUTHEAST TEXAS! 🎉

We are beyond proud to announce that Loula Foundation has earned its Level 1 Trauma-Informed Care Certification through The Ecumenical Center!

THIS IS HUGE FOR LOULA FOUNDATION!

But what makes this accomplishment so meaningful isn't just the recognition. It's everything this certification represents.

At Loula Foundation, trauma-informed care isn't just something we talk about, a training we attend, or a box we check.

IT IS WHO WE ARE.

Every day, we walk alongside families who have experienced substance use, domestic violence, childhood trauma, family separation, and some of life's most difficult circumstances. We understand that trauma doesn't simply disappear when someone decides to change their life. It affects how people build relationships, respond to challenges, trust others, and navigate recovery.

And we recognize something incredibly important: The way we help people matters just as much as the help we provide.

Trauma-informed care means recognizing the impact of trauma and being intentional about how we respond. It means creating environments where people feel safe, respected, heard, and empowered. It means understanding that healing cannot be forced, trust must be earned, and every person deserves dignity regardless of their circumstances.

This certification is more than a piece of paper. It represents ACCOUNTABILITY.

It means we have taken the steps to evaluate our organization, strengthen our practices, and meet established standards of trauma-informed care.

Because good intentions alone are not enough.

Families deserve organizations that are willing to look beyond traditional approaches, challenge practices that may cause additional harm, and continuously improve the way services are delivered.

That is the kind of organization we are committed to being.

I am incredibly proud of our team for embracing this commitment and putting these principles into action. This achievement reflects the heart, dedication, and hard work behind everything we are building at Loula Foundation.

Our mission is to promote safe and loving homes for children through family recovery. We know that breaking cycles of trauma begins with changing how we support the people and families affected by it.

And today, we get to celebrate a milestone that shows just how seriously we take that responsibility.

We are proud to be the FIRST. We are honored to be the ONLY. But our greatest hope is that we won't be the LAST.

Because trauma-informed care shouldn't be the exception.

IT SHOULD BE THE STANDARD. 💙
