I don't care what he says when he's on the phone with you, when your man is released from prison, he's going to need time to adjust...and so are you.

🚨 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED 🚨
Project LPP is looking for compassionate, committed volunteers who are willing to make a difference in the lives of incarcerated men and women.

Our volunteers lead engaging two-hour sessions inside correctional facilities, helping participants develop life skills, strengthen family relationships, prepare for reentry, and build hope for a brighter future.

We are looking for individuals who:
✅ Can pass a background check
✅ Communicate effectively and respectfully
✅ Respect inmates, correctional staff, and facility policies
✅ Lead with kindness, empathy, and professionalism
✅ Feel comfortable interacting and engaging with diverse groups
of people
✅ Follow Project LPP's volunteer and session facilitation
guidelines

You don't need to be an expert—just someone who believes in second chances and is willing to invest your time in helping others grow.

Your presence can make a lasting impact on someone preparing to return home, rebuild relationships, and become a productive member of the community.

🧡One conversation can inspire hope.
🧡 One session can change a life.
🧡One volunteer can make a difference.

Project LPP’s goal is not blind trust or forced acceptance. The goal is balanced thinking:

Evaluate people by who they are today, not 20, 30, or 40 years ago.

Look for consistency, accountability, and growth.

Support rehabilitation that produces real transformation.

Create pathways for productive citizenship instead of permanent rejection.

If society says people can change, then society must also leave room for change to be demonstrated and accepted.

Everybody won’t foster a child.
Everybody won’t give to St. Jude.
Everybody won’t march for a cause.
Everybody won’t rescue a dog.

And certainly everybody will not be onboard with giving incarcerated men and women second chances.

Project LPP respects people’s apprehensions about formerly incarcerated men and women and one thing we’ll never do is dismiss, mock, be mad at, or ignore their thoughts, ideas, and opinions.

Some apprehensions and concerns come from personal experiences, fear, trauma, and just downright uncertainty.

People, all people, have a right to be cautious and we would never, nor would we allow anyone in our presence to shame people for being cautious when it comes to formerly incarcerated men and women.

Instead, when invited to, we address those concerns honestly, responsibly, and realistically.

We listen.
We do not judge.

But we also refuse to enable incarcerated men and women by encouraging them to remain emotionally, mentally, or spiritually tied to the behaviors, environments, and mindsets that contributed to their wrong behaviors.

Our mission is not to create comfort in dysfunction — it is to inspire transformation.

The goal is to connect individuals to meaningful reasons to grow, heal, mature, and become better every single day, whether parole is ever a possibility for them or not.

True rehabilitation is not dependent on release dates. It begins when a person makes the decision to rise above who they once were and commit to becoming who they were meant to be.

“I’m in a relationship with a man who is incarcerated. I feel embarrassed and ashamed.”

Loving someone during a difficult season of life should bring no shame.

What matters most in a relationship with an incarcerated man is whether the relationship is healthy, honest, and helping both people grow.

Just like men who are not incarcerated, some incarcerated men are genuinely taking control of their lives, doing the work to change, accepting accountability for both their past and present choices, and growing spiritually, emotionally, and mentally.

And just like men who are not incarcerated, some incarcerated men are manipulative, unstable, disrespectful, and completely unprepared for a healthy friendship or relationship.

Most times shame comes from outside judgment. Then there are those critical times that must not be overlooked - those internal warning sign that tells you something in the relationship feels unhealthy, unequal, or emotionally heavy.
