Beardstown Houston Memorial Library Welcome to Beardstown Public Library! We offer library cards and free programming for all ages.

Rentals, story times, children's play area, lego club, move & groove, free Wifi, after school programming, copy/fax/laminate/scan ($), & monthly craft nights! We provide books, movies, music, computer use, audiobooks, large print materials, Spanish materials and French materials to the Beardstown community.

🌸📚 We had the sweetest surprise at the library today!

A huge thank you to Rosebud & Co. for stopping by with this beautiful arrangement and all of these wonderful treats in honor of Dolly Parton!
You certainly made our day (and spoiled our staff a little too)!

What a beautiful way to celebrate Dolly, the kindness she showed to everyone, and the incredible gift she has given to children and families through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.

As a library, there aren't many things we love more than seeing children discover the magic of books, and we are so grateful for people like Dolly who have made it their mission to help make that possible for children everywhere. ❤️

Thank you, Dolly, for inspiring generations of little readers, and thank you again to Rosebud & Co. for this incredibly thoughtful surprise!

Happy Friday!

The Mommy & Me Coffee Bar will be up and running in 20 minutes! Bring your little ones over at 11 AM for some play time while you enjoy a drink and conversation!

The movie starts at 4 PM

✨We have another new program starting soon at the library!

The Children's Creative Crafters Club!

This will be held the first Monday of each month from 4-5 PM

For ages 13 and younger

Children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by someone age 14 or older!

Registration is required for each craft. Children MUST be registered in order to participate.

Something new is coming to the library!

Have you ever watched a movie and thought, "The book was WAY better!"

Or maybe, "The movie actually improved it!"

Now's your chance to settle the debate!

We're excited to introduce Booked & Screened, our brand-new YA book and movie club for teens and young adults age 14+!

Each month we'll read a young adult novel, watch the movie together, enjoy snacks (don't forget to bring your own drink), and chat about which version came out on top.

Our first meeting is a Welcome Night!

We'll introduce the club, hand out our first book, and vote on future titles.

📅 Second Tuesday of every month (This is subject to change so let us know if another day/time works better for you)

Welcome Night will be Tuesday, September 8th from 3:30 - 4 PM, so stop by and grab your first book!

We can't wait to read, watch, and discuss with you!

This week the library has something for everyone!

SPARK:
Monday's from 3:30-5 PM
Ages 8-13
The kids create, cook, learn, and have fun. There is something new each week!

LEGO Club:
Tuesday's from 4-5 PM
Ages 13 & under (your child should be able to safely use LEGOs)
Storytime:
Storytime returns this week! Every Wednesday after join us at from 11 AM - 12 PM for stories, crafts, and more!
Ages infants-5

Mommy & Me:
Every Friday until Move & Groove begins from 11 AM - 12 PM
Ages infants-5
Join us for community, a coffee bar, and juice and snacks. The littles play while you can enjoy some conversation and coffee!

Teen Takeover:
Last Friday of every month through May from 4-6 PM
Ages 13-17
This is an after hour event held in our meeting room during our monthly movie night. There is no program to follow the teens can hang out, have a drink and some snacks, play games, join the movie night, watch their own movie, etc. It is up to them!
Registration required.

Movie Night:
Last Friday of the month 4 PM until the end of the movie.
This months showing is: TWISTER
For adults and teens
Come enjoy popcorn and a drink while you watch the classic storm chasers in action! Feel free to bring your own snack and drink as well.

What a wonderful week at the library! Thank you to all who came out and participated in our new and returning events. The community is truly what makes these programs so special!

Next week is another full week with new and returning favorites.
Monday: SPARK returns from 4:30-5PM
Tuesday: LEGO Club 4-5PM
Wednesday: STORTYTIME RETURNS! 11 AM - 12 PM
Friday: Mommy & Me 11 AM - 12 PM
Teen Takeover- Our new afterhours event for teens 4-6 PM
And the Monthly Movie Night- Twister starts at 4 PM

Teen Takeover:

An after hours event held on the last Friday of the month during our monthly movie night.
It is held in the meeting room from 4-6 PM
Ages 13-17
We will provide snacks and drinks.
There is no schedule or program the teens can play games, listen to music, watch a movie of their own, join the movie night in the main library, or just hang out with friends. The choice is theirs.
