We are thrilled to have 4th District Supervisor Natalie Arroyo as our auctioneer, along with Carol Jacobson. You don't want to miss this duo, and we have some some special packages we think will inspire you.

We asked Natalie why she so wholeheartedly supports the Symphony and this is what she said:

“I was raised with exposure to music, including classical music, piano lessons and competitions, trips to the ballet and symphony, and Puerto Rican folk music. It has shaped my mind and my worldview, and I look forward to supporting the Symphony's fundraising efforts this year so that our community and youth can experience world class symphonic music! “

Love to sing? Join the voices behind the Eureka Symphony’s "All-American" performance!

The Eureka Symphony will hold chorus auditions from 1 to 4 p.m. on September 18 and 19 in Eureka. Singers selected through the audition process will join the Eureka Symphony for its All-American concert, March 5 and 6, at the Arkley Center for the Performing Arts.

Singers of all backgrounds are encouraged to audition They ⭐️MUST BE ABLE TO READ MUSIC⭐️ and should be prepared to meet the specific audition requirements listed on the Eureka Symphony’s website. Auditions will be conducted by Eureka Symphony Conductor and Artistic Director Carol Jacobson and Chorus Master David Powell.

The concert will celebrate one of the great landmarks of American opera: George Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess, presented in concert form. The Eureka Symphony and chorus will be joined by two exceptional Bay Area artists, soprano Shawnette Sulker and baritone Bradley Kynard.

Chorus rehearsals will begin November 2, pause during December, and resume in January with weekly rehearsals leading up to the March performances.

Singers who have not performed with the chorus in more than two years will be required to re-audition. Singers of all voice types are encouraged to audition, with a special invitation to tenors and basses, who are particularly needed for this production.

Welcome to our 2026-2027 season, our 35th anniversary! We have an exciting lineup. As Carol says, "It feels like opening a door onto a landscape both familiar and full of surprises."

We are rolling out ticket sales, so if you are interested, here's the deal:

Our beloved local artist Duane Flatmo was honored last night with a stunning community celebration and dedication of an alley in his name. He has achieved so much during his richly creative life in Humboldt, including the creation of El Pulpo Magnifico (with his team) and painting the mural you see here on the back of the Arkley Center where we perform our concerts. Thank you to the City of Eureka (and team Duane!) for making this happen, and to Redwood Capital Bank for lending their parking lot for the party! Now we can say our concerts are performed at the corner of Duane Flatmo Alley and G Street!

Once the chorus knew all the words and when to sing them, Carol’s main feedback for them was, “MEAN IT!“

This weekend's German Requiem will be sung in German, naturally. If you don't speak German you will still feel the fullness of the music's offering. Both English and German lyrics will be in the playbill insert, but of course the lights will be down during the performance.

We will perform all 7 movements without stopping, there will not be an intermission. Let the profundity of the music sink in and hold your applause until the very end. ✨

The alley next to the Arkley Center (between 4th and 5th and F and G streets) in Eureka has been officially renamed Duane Flatmo Alley by the Eureka City Council. Much deserved! We love Duane and all that he has done for our community. We had fun a couple weeks ago taking photos with Carol in front of Duane's murals.

We also heard there will be a celebration of the naming on June 13, 7 PM in the alley.
