What a month for our trails—and what a community behind them!!! 🌲🥾 Throughout September, volunteers and local partners rolled up their sleeves to improve Maxwell Forest, Frog Bay Tribal National Park, the Brownstone Trail, and Big Ravine.

From building boardwalks and clearing trails to hauling wood chips, every effort is helping make these special places more welcoming and accessible.

Join us for the Salmo Lake Walk Accessibility Project ribbon cutting! OVERFLOW PARKING: Available at the state fish hatchery across from the Salmo Trail. Use CAUTION when crossing Highway 13!!

Afterward, walk the trail to the beach and back—1.2 miles round trip. 🌲🥾

🌿 Big news at Salmo Lakewalk Trail! The new 330-foot boardwalk extension is in place, bringing the accessibility project one big step closer to completion. 🎉

👏 Huge thanks to WisCorps and BAT volunteers for the hard work—building, hauling, spreading gravel, clearing brush, and keeping this community project moving forward.

🥾 The trail is open now, so come check it out! It will close again the week of August 10 while WisCorps returns to build the observation platform and finish the final touches.

This latest project sets the stage for the next phase of the Salmo Accessibility Project. Wisconsin Conservation Corps will come to town during the last two weeks of July to install 330 feet of elevated boardwalk and construct a 10’ x 16’ viewing platform along the lakes’ edge!!
