It's taken me a little while to calm down enough to make this painful post, but here it goes... the Bay Minette Witches Ride will NOT take place this year. Our fine city leaders have decided not to allow ATV and UTV vehicles to participate in any parades, including Christmas Fest. This is due to 1 under aged kid on a 4 wheeler acting out at last year's Christmas parade. So all us responsible adults are being punished for the act of that 1. This includes the Shriners being excluded also. The Witches have always followed all the rules set forth by the city, don't even allow anyone under 18 to participate in our ride, and we purchase a million dollar liability policy for those JUST IN CASE things that could happen, but we are being punished. We are a group of mostly older ladies, alot of which cannot ride a bicycle, that's why we added the motorized vehicles, with Chief Al Tolbert's approval. We do not have enough bicycle riders to support this event, so with great sadness, we will no longer be having this event. The North Baldwin Animal Shelter is the loser because all the money raised went straight to them. Maybe the city of Bay Minette will cover that loss. For the last 2 years we put $3500 each year in the hands of those fine folks to help feed the dogs and cats that reside at the shelter. This would have been our 5th year and we were growing bigger each year. Thanks to everyone who has supported this event since the beginning!!! Much love to you all!!!

Calling all witches and warlocks!!!! It looks like the rain is going to hold off til later so we are flying at noon!!!!

Ok all you witches and warlocks, we are watching the weather closely to make sure we don't get wet!!! You all know what happens when a Witch gets wet!!! If we have to reschedule, we will try again November 5th. Keep your fingers crossed...
