The Leadership Bay County Class of 2027 hit the road for Transportation Day!

Participants visited MBS International Airport and Bay Metro Transit and heard from representatives of New Dimensions, Saginaw Valley State University, the Bay County Road Commission, the Bay City Government, and MDOT about transportation accessibility, challenges, and infrastructure in our community.

The day wrapped up with a Community Mobility Challenge, where teams explored Bay City using different transportation options. This hands-on experience highlighted the challenges residents may face when getting around our community and reinforced the importance of accessible, reliable transportation in connecting people to jobs, services, and everyday opportunities.

Thank you to all our speakers and community partners for making this an engaging and informative day!

We love seeing the lasting impact of Leadership Bay County!

Retreat Day challenged the Leadership Bay County Class of 2027 to think more intentionally about how they lead and work with others!

Facilitated by Dennis Beson with DB Consulting, the day focused on understanding individual leadership styles through DiSC, strengthening communication, exploring the impact of attitude, and working through team-building activities. Class members also explored vision, alignment and ex*****on as tools they can use in their workplaces and throughout the community.

The day set the stage for participants to put these lessons into practice as they move through their leadership experience.

Thank you to Dow Credit Union for sponsoring Retreat and supporting the continued development of leaders in Bay County!

Welcome, Leadership Bay County Class of 2027!

This week, we officially kicked off another year of Leadership Bay County with orientation for our newest class of community leaders.

Participants had the opportunity to meet one another, learn more about the year ahead, review the program expectations, and begin thinking about the class project they will complete together.

Over the coming months, this group will explore Bay County through sessions focused on areas including business and economic development, education, government, public safety, human services, arts and culture, agriculture, natural resources and more.

Most importantly, they’ll build relationships, gain a deeper understanding of the community and discover new ways to get involved and make an impact.

We’re excited to welcome the Class of 2027 and look forward to following their Leadership Bay County journey!

The fence is now up around the playground expansion created through the Leadership Bay County Class of 2026 project! Designed for children ages 0–3, the new play area adds another welcoming, accessible space for families to enjoy in Downtown Bay City.

We’ve loved seeing this project come to life and are excited to see it become part of the Wenonah Park experience!

The finishing touches are underway at the new Wenonah Park playground! Shaw Contracting has leveled the surrounding ground and installed hydroseed to help complete the space.

That’s a wrap!

Leadership Bay County spent day 2 installing the remaining border and spreading mulch throughout the playground. A huge thank you is due to the City of Bay City for helping us to move our mulch!

This project is coming to a close, but we can’t wait to celebrate it with you at our upcoming Ribbon Cutting on August 6, followed by a fun night of celebration at Drydock! See you there!

Another round of thank yous to our amazing supporters! Thank you to both Shaw Contracting Co and R & R Ready Mix for their donations to the expansion of the playground at Wenonah Park. We wouldn’t be here without your support!
