Miracle update 💖

Dr W called me around 730am and left a voicemail. She had made no improvements over night, still pretty lifeless, and he just asked for me to give him a call back at my convenience.

I felt really bad about this and almost like I was hiding out, but I couldn’t make myself call him back. Joy finally asked, did you call him back yet? I said no not yet I just keep putting it off I guess thinking I can buy her some more time. I knew when I called back it would be over, but I was at the point that I just couldn’t ring that bell.

Then, at 1118am, he called me back. She’s improving.
🙏😭🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏

He actually said she looks too good to euthanize her now. They did a repeat scan and the free fluid that was there yesterday is GONE 🙌. Also he said she was playing with his ear lobe the last time he went in to check on her. He assured me that she’s not suffering and that this is not a for sure bet, but he feels confident in her condition in this hour to keep going. He will update us again later this afternoon.

Our prayers are working y’all. I cannot thank you enough for doing this for her. She feels them I just know it!

I told him I’m sorry for being so much but I just believe she’s supposed to be here. He said well she’s certainly got 9 lives and is trying to use them all 😅.

Sweet Simone is off to a wonderful new family. We are so glad that she came to the west side of the state to continue her search for a furever home! This gal really lucked out as a result!

I just couldn't wait to share this moment with Sterling and Rose, beloved Alberta Mountain horse royalty. The story told by Darrell with Help Alberta Wildies Society is that Rose showed up on the range one day and no one knew where she came from. She was with Sterling for about two weeks but then another stallion (Trojan I think) took her. She was with that stallion for about a year when she got injured running from a grizzly.

Guess who then took her in? Sterling. And with his love and careful attention, Rose overcame her injury and the two have been inseparable ever since ♥

I want to thank Darrell for taking us out into the backcountry and showing us horses we would not have seen otherwise, so grateful!
